The Brazil French Press coffeemaker, designed in the early 80's, was our first coffeemaker and quickly became a symbol of what Bodum stands for. Attractive and functional design at an affordable price. User questions & answers
Question: | Where is this French Prench made in |
Answer: | You *can* get these apart to clean, but be very careful. The most obvious way is to lift the top of the handle to "unhook" it. That's not the easiest way, but if you have the strength it's the safest. I find it easier to remove the base by turning upside down. Looking at the bottom you want to push the beaker with your thumbs while holding the plastic base with your finger tips. The plastic will be more flexible if you soak it in hot soapy water. The dish soap in the hot water will help it slide out. It may pop out suddenly and is very breakable. I always re-assemble base 1st, then snap the handle over the edge of the beaker. (I've had a few of these. Some fit quite tightly others are fairly easy to remove.) |
Question: | The product description says the carafe is made of glass but a lot of the customer reviews say plastic. Which is it |
Answer: | Hi! On the description is written 34 ounces (8 cup). Regards, House 2 Home |
Question: | Can the glass beaker be easily removed from the base? thank you |
Answer: | Plastic lid, handle, and base not metal. Press is metal however. They work the same, just a matter of looks. |
Question: | Already broken. I've only had this for 2 months and the plastic part that holds the filter together is broken. Can I send this back for a better one |
Answer: | The Pitcher is made of Borosilicate Glass. The Brazil 12 Cup (1.5 Liter ) [51fl.oz] is made in Portugal. |

Bodum Brazil French Press Coffee Maker
The French press coffee maker is the simplest of all brewing systems, where coarsely ground beans meet hot water right off the boil. The right temperature (92–96 °C, 195–205 °F) brings the optimal extraction power for the essential oils in the beans to develop their full flavor profile in just four minutes. An easy press on the plunger locks the grinds at the bottom of the glass carafe and stops the brewing process.
Step 1
For each 4-ounce cup, put 1 rounded tablespoon or 1 Bodum scoop of coarse-ground coffee into the pot.
Step 2
Pour hot (not boiling) water into the pot. Leave a minimum of 1 inch of space at the top. Stir with a plastic spoon.
Step 3
Place the plunger unit on top of the pot. Do not press down. Let the coffee brew for 4 minutes.
Step 4
After 4 minutes press down the plunger and enjoy.
Borosilicate Glass beaker
The beaker is made of High-Quality Borosilicate glass is ultra-light and strong, has great heat- resistant properties, and will not get cloudy in the dishwasher.
Stainless Steel Spiral plate
The Stainless Steel spiral plate keeps the filter mesh in place and makes sure that water goes through but no ground coffee. The flexible spiral provides a universal fit taking into account the manufacturing tolerances of glass jugs.
Stainless Steel Mesh
The Stainless Steel filter mesh is a key component to the Bodum coffee makers. It separates the ground coffee beans from the water after the brewing has stopped.
Stainless Steel Cross plate
The Stainless Steel cross plate holds the mesh in place together with the spiral plate.

User questions & answers
Question: | I have the original Jetboil. Which size will fit |
Answer: | Thank you for asking! For the original 1L cup, you would just need the standard size. The Grande is for the larger rimmed cups as the Sumo and MiniMo. Happy Camping!! |
Question: | the coffee press is compatible with the jetboil 0.8L |
Answer: | Yes, it works just fine. |
Question: | Two different sizes listed. Which size fits the minimo/wider dimension |
Answer: | The one that is $12.95 is the wider one. The listing is kind of messed up, but when you click on the $12.95 one, the Item Model Number changes below to the COF076 which is the wider one. The COF075 is the narrow one. |
Question: | does this french press fit all makes of jetboils |
Answer: | No it doesn't. It fits the Jetboil products which have a 104mm diameter. The Sumo Jetboils are 125mm in diameter and the Helios are 115mm, so this won't work with those products. I haven't used everything Jetboil makes, but the coffee press does match up with the Sol, Zip and Flash products. Hope this helps. |
