Question:	How much coffee do you use? How much does it make
Answer:	You put coffee up to the coffee Bean marker, 6 oz. Use 24 Oz water. Yield is about 16 oz of coffee concentrate. The book says about 5-7 drinks.

Answer:	Yes you can as a secondary to the stainless steel mesh provided. The stainless one is non removable but it will also accept a paper filter.
Question:	I’ve noticed a problem with my flavored coffee clogging the filter. I grind it as coarse as possible, is there anything else I can do
Answer:	Unfortunately, the flavor in your flavored coffee is produced by oils. Those oils are inherently going to stick to and clog up filters. this is less of an issue on the larger paper filter of a pour over or drip coffee maker, but it will present a challenge in something like this. If you're using a burr grinder, they're also going to leave residue behind on the burrs, so you'll need to make sure you're cleaning it after every use (or at very least when you change flavors and periodically for the health of the burrs). Unfortunately, your best bet if you want to add some sort of flavor to the coffee is to use an unflavored bean and add flavor to the concentrate or the final glass of coffee.

Question:	What is the average time to brew
Answer:	I believe the manual/guide suggests letting coffee brew for 12-24 hours. My palate isn't very sophisticated so I couldn't really say whether there's a real difference between letting brew shorter or longer, within that window, but I've let it brew near both ends of that range and it always seems to turn out well. I generally let it brew overnight, and how long it ends up brewing is generally based on what time during the previous day I started it brewing.
Question:	How much liquid should it yield? I used 20 oz. of water and 5.0 oz. of coffee grounds. I only ended up with approximately 10 oz. of coffee concentrate
Answer:	I've had mine for a bit over a year now. I use 10 oz by weight of course ground and 48 liquid oz water, let stand/brew for 24 hours, stirring after 12 to 18 hours , then drain for 30 to 45 minutes. I use the optional paper filters, keeps the "dust" out.
Question:	What made you go with this unit over the Todd cold brew unit which is 15 dollars cheaper? I'm trying to decide which one to get so thanks
Answer:	I've been using the Toddy for years - in fact I replaced my first unit with another Toddy when the plastic got scratched. The Toddy handle is so flimsy that I threw it out after one use. It is difficult to remove the plug without getting coffee on your hands (or shirt if you tip it). If you don't put the plug in all the way so that it's easier to remove, it leaks. I felt that reusable plastic filter was unsanitary. I don't like bleaching plastic, and it shrinks if you put boiling water over it. The OXO is sturdy, and a more rigid plastic. The lever, while stiff, is much easier to operate than the plug. The OXO stand is wonderful (I still remember the morning when I didn't set the Toddy filter assembly straight on the carafe & the whole thing tipped over me and the counter.) The metal filter of the OXO doesn't hold as much grounds inside, and it can be run through the dishwasher or boiled. I'm wishing that I'd seen the OXO sooner - and I've been using a Toddy for 5 years. The only thing that the Toddy does better is that it will hold a pound of coffee, while the OXO only holds 10 oz.

Answer:	Yes but would add water under boiling if you use tap water use hot water from tap for tea bag for loose tea place in center metal filter and use hot tap water.

Answer:	I don't know how many microns but the mesh doesn't work. The grounds flow through and I have to use a paper coffee filter to pour the coffee through to filter out the grounds. Ridiculous as it's double work.

Answer:	9 tablespoons of coarse ground coffee, slowly pour 3 cups of water over grounds into bottle. Brew in fridge 8-12 hours. Remove grounds. Refill to 3cup mark, add cream/sugar if desired.

Answer:	Just FYI. BPA free is great.... but it's worth knowing what's being used in it's place.
Question:	When do you add infuser? do you put infuser in after 32 ounces or after 3/4 full? thanks. the instructions say to add 32 ounces and to fill 3/4 full
Answer:	Actually, I pour the first 16 ounces through the infuser, over the grounds. I like to "bloom" the grounds first. I just hold the infuser in the pitcher, and pour the water with my other hand. Then I add the second 16 ounces, and add the infuser. The 32 ounces only fills the pitcher 3/4 full. It leaves enough room for water displacement when the infuser is added.
Question:	The suggested 28 tbsp coffee almost filled up the filter thingy - some grounds were even dry after sitting. What measurement works best
Answer:	I have the 2 quart pitcher and the instructions say 28-32 tablespoons or 2 cups of coffee for cold brew. I was confused at first and looking at the wrong directions and used only 1 cup. The coffee was drinkable but it was not as concentrated as it should be. Also, the instructions say to put it on it's side in the refrigerator which I didn't do the first time..
Question:	Can you use this to make ice tea? it seems the same as the Takeya ice tea maker but with a different colored top
Answer:	It's not the same filter. The coffee maker uses an ultra-fine mesh filter, while the iced tea maker uses one that is not as fine. We also recommend using two filters - one for coffee and one for tea to ensure that you get the best taste from each beverage.

Question:	Once the plastic nut cut out fails the whole system fails. Is there a fix
Answer:	Yeah. The carafe makes a nice holder for cut flowers. Disappointed. I liked the grounds lifter, but when there were as many grounds in my coffee cup as in the carafe, that became irrelevant. Bought a different fp coffee maker.
Question:	is it possible to replace the plunger only on my coffee press the top of it has a large crack
Answer:	I've replaced the carafe once, but I think that's the only part OXO sells separately. Now my plunger is cracked, and I cannot find that replacement part sold separately anywhere (Amazon, Ebay, etc.). A person may get the filter replaced by calling OXO directly.

Answer:	60 grams of coffee and 1,000 grams (1 liter) of water.
Question:	Does this pot have a cozy to go with it to keep the coffee warm
Answer:	No it does not. I made enough coffee for one of my insulated mugs so there was little to no extra. When I wanted more coffee I made another pot by adding about half of the original coffee and more hot water. It worked for the second cup but needed to be fresh for the next one.

Question:	Are there parts of this that are plastic? If so, which parts
Answer:	All of the parts are plastic.
Question:	Are the holes supposed to have diffferent flows? 3 flow fast and the others are slow drips
Answer:	I believe that the flow should be similar for each hole. Check out the video on Amazon's page. It shows all holes with a similar flow. If your flow pattern is much different you may have a unit with a manufacturing defect.
Question:	How can i stop the plastic taste? i've washed it repeatedly. is it because of the plastic melting? i've only used stainless steel before now
Answer:	The question is "plastic taste" not "filter taste". Hot water should not be used on plastic or nylon products. Google it!
Question:	Some holes seem to be draining slower than others. Is this a problem

Answer:	I do not know if this is considered a French whisk. I do own it and love it. It is a nice size for my use. Amazon does have a larger size by OXO Good Grips probably for whipping cream or batters. I love the whisk I purchased and would buy one for a friend. Sorry I don’t know about the French aspect.
