User questions & answers

Question: Today the release lever stoped functioning leaving the coffee in the top tank. Do others have this same problem
Answer: I have used this bucket last night and had no water ring when done. So no it does not sweat
Question: How loud is it
Answer: We do not presently carry the stand.
Question: Can this be used to make cold brew concentrate
Answer: We put bags of ice in it, but it would probably hold about 4 gallons of water.
Question: Tried 4 different coffees, coarse and fine ground. Even with brewing strength on bold I get very weak coffee that is undrinkable. Suggestions
Answer: depends on size of bottle you are chilling. 21" wide, 13" deep, 9.55" tall outside dims. Take off about 1" on each side for insulation, you still get a fairly large amount of space to chill your beverages.

Automatic Cold Brew Coffeemaker

The cold brew process uses cold or room temperature water to extract coffee flavors, producing a smooth, full-bodied cup of coffee that can be enjoyed cold or hot. Brewing at a lower temperature, instead of using heat, extracts fewer bitter flavors and results in a less acidic and more balanced cup of coffee.

While traditional cold brewing methods can take anywhere from 12–24 hours, the Cuisinart Cold Brew Coffeemaker delivers cold brew in a fraction of the time of manual cold brewers–in as little as 25 minutes!

Cold brew when you want it

Innovative technology speeds up the cold brew process for cold brew coffee in as little as 25 minutes!

Coffeehouse cold brew at home

Enjoy the naturally smoother and sweeter taste of cold brew coffee in a fraction of the time of traditional cold brewers.

Customized control

Mild, medium and bold strength options let you choose your favorite flavor.

No sediment

Three filters reduce sediment to ensure a superior, silky smooth cold brew.

Makes up to 7 cups

After brewing, coffee can be enjoyed right away or refrigerated in the glass carafe to maintain fresh flavor for up to 2 weeks.

Easy cleanup

All removable parts are dishwasher safe.

Making cold brew

Add ground coffee to the filter basket and fill the water tank with cold or room temperature water. We recommend using 1½ scoops of medium-to-coarse ground coffee per cup of water.

Begin brewing

Select your preferred coffee strength and press BREW to begin the brew cycle. The coffee filter basket gently spins and pauses throughout the brew cycle.

After brewing

Once brewing is complete, slide the lever to the release position to let finished cold brew flow into the carafe. Enjoy!

User questions & answers

Question: is the carafe glass or stainless steel
Answer: It's amazing to me to see comments on anything but what is exactly described within this link for the DCC-3200P1. No, this isn't the DCC-3400. Yes, it has a glass carafe. The description says so in three places. Nowhere does the description mention a stainless carafe - NOWHERE. The photos show glass (I agree two of them have what looks to be coffee brewed, but at least one photo clearly shows an empty GLASS carafe.
Question: Can you take the carafe out and pour a cup of coffee before it is totally finished brewing (without it continuing to drip
Answer: Yes you can pour a cup of coffee before it is totally finished brewing. It does not drip. Once you return carafe it just finishes filling. There is no problem with a drip. Per the instructions. It tells you it is ok to do and it works perfectly
Question: Whar, besides style, is the difference between dcc3200 and dcc
Answer: Taste: Coffee in the 3200 is more flavorful. A new machine might be expected to be better, but I think they've gotten the flow and temperature of the brewing process better.Temperature: The brewed coffee is much hotter. Both units have three temperature settings for the hot plate, but the settings on the 3200 are hotter.Size and Capacity. The 3200 handles 14 cups compared to the 1200's 12 cups. Yet as you can see from the photos, they are the same height to fit on a counter. They seem to get the extra capacity by making the 3200 a little deeper from front to back. We've been surprised at how useful the extra capacity is.Carafe: The new glass carafe is just like the old one, only larger. It pours nicely with or without the lid on it. The new lid works the same as the old one, popping off and on. (I read some complaints about the lid on an intervening model with a spring opening, but if so, they fixed that by going back to the 1200 style). As far as I can tell, there isn't a version of the 3200 designed for a thermal carafe like there is for the 12-cup models. I prefer the glass carafe because it keeps the coffee hotter longer, and I can always pour the coffee into a thermal carafe if I want to.Water Filling. The bigger size also increases the size of the water fill hole. The lid on the top of the 3200 unit raises to 90 degrees straight up, where the lid on the 1200 tilted further back and out of the way. Still the 3200 is easier to fill, and I suspect that the restriction on the tilt may help preserve the integrity of the hot water tube.Sneak a Cup. Taking out the carafe to sneak a cup during brewing worked great on the 1200 with little dripping, and still does on the 3200.Basket. The basket on the 3200 is very similar to the 1200, but a slightly different shape to accommodate more grounds for 14 cups. Actually, grounds just barely fit with a 4 cup paper filter in the new basket, and sometimes go above the filter in the basket. The basket actually seems more designed for the included gold filter.Water filter. The 3200 uses the exact same carbon filters and filter holder as the 1200, but the holder seems to fit more snugly in its hole, which may help prevent clogging (see below)Beep. The 3200 allows you to turn of the coffee-ready beep if you want.Controls. Controls on the 3200 are a little easier. The 3200 uses all push buttons with no switches. Separate hour and minute settings make it a little easier to program and set the clock. There is a new "Bold" setting which does indeed seem to result in stronger coffee. There is still a setting for smaller, 1-4 cup pots, but I never use that. You can still set the hot plate to stay hot for up to 4 hours, which is important to me. There is a fairly bright blue glow from the LED display on the 3200.Cleaning. There was a sensor button on the hot plate of the 1200 that's gone on the 3200, so the plate stays cleaner. The extra stainless steel looks good on the 3200 but probably shows smudges more and might benefit from special cleaner fluids.Coffee Grounds Overflowing and Clogging. This was the biggest problem before, and I don't know if it's fixed, but it seems better. On the 1200, if you put too many coffee grounds in the filter it could overflow in the brewing process, and sometimes grounds would get into the water system and clog the tube. The 1200 was designed not to be repairable, but customers tried anyway with some difficulty. After one successful repair, we eventually had to replace the 1200. So far, we have not had any overflow issues with the 3200. The larger basket (with possibly a bigger drip opening), the deeper reservoir and longer case, and the more stable, non-tilting lid may help with this, but we will see how it works over time. I do notice that they made the bottom panel easier to remove, with regular screws instead of Torx, if it ever comes to that. My one tip for users is to always use the filter holder with a filter in it, even if your water is fine, because that should help prevent grounds from getting into the heating system. In all, the 3200 is an excellent replacement for the 1200, and worth the extra money if you are choosing between the two models new.
Question: Does this have a showerhead
Answer: Thank you for making my day Karen's Husband and for subtly causing me to buy this coffee maker (with a showerhead) for my husband! Kevin's Wife

Question: Does it use any brand single serve pod
Answer: It will take any brand of K-Cup size pod. It also comes with a re-fillable pod you can fill with whatever coffee you prefer.
Question: Dimensions are 11.8 x 12.9 x 16.6 inches - but is that HxWxD or something else
Answer: These Dimensions are not correct. The Actual setting on the counter size is 10.5" wide x 10.5" deep x 14.5" tall
Question: Which gold filter does ss-15 12-cup coffee maker and single-serve brewer use the flat or the cone shaped filter
Answer: The 12 cup Brewer uses cone shaped filter
Question: Does the reservoir function to fill the single serve, or do you have to pour water in each time you use it to make a cup? Thank you
Answer: The Cuisinart features two separate reservoirs — one to brew a full pot of coffee & one for a single-serve cup. The two reservoirs mean that when you brew a pot, you aren’t using up all of the water from the single-serve reservoir — which is a plus. However both reservoirs are somewhat difficult to access. To answer your question, you don’t have to pour water in each time for the single-serve function, which is an improvement over some other dual coffee makers (like the Hamilton Flex Brew). The single-serve reservoir holds 40 oz — enough to brew three 10 oz cups or five 6 oz cups before refilling. (It requires a limited amount of water to remain in the reservoir to work properly.) For a larger reservoir, consider the Keurig K-Duo Plus, which features a 60-63 oz single reservoir. Hope that helps:)

User questions & answers

Question: Does this turn on/off through Alexa ? Is it possible
Answer: No. The power switch is on the side of the device, and it isn't communique possible. It needs to be pressed each time it's powered off to activate it. Merely using a smart plug won't work well enough, as just giving power to the cord isn't enough to turn it on. It still needs the power switch activated to turn on.
Question: Does it accept typical round pods
Answer: yes, it uses standard K-cups that you can buy anywhere. But there's an added bonus; the reusable plastic coffee holder and mesh wire basket. I like fresh ground coffee without the coloring the add to the K-cups. So I grind my own coffee and fill the little wire mesh basket about 3/4 full (a little over 2 tablespoons of ground coffee) and brew a 10 oz cup. It is WONDERFUL and using your own ground coffee is less that half of the cost of buying K-cup pods.
Question: Anyone else have this start making loud noises when brewing? If so, do you know how to fix it
Answer: : just received this coffee maker 1/7/2020. YES, it is very loud when brewing, wakes my husband up. My previous machine, a Keurig K250, never made this loud of a noise, even after having it over 6 years. That being said, I do like the machine so far. Was easy to program/set up. I have contacted Cuisinart, after numerous suggestions from them to fix the problem, they are sending a replacement and I am returning this one at no expense to me.
Question: Can non-Keurig pods be used in this unit
Answer: Yes, I have not had any problems using non-keurig pods.

User questions & answers

Question: My coffee maker is brand new but the coffee has a mildew taste. How can I fix this
Answer: Wow! Never heard of this. First suggestion: Clean the pot with water and vinegar. Experts disagree on the ratio of water and vinegar. Some say equal parts. Some encourage a 2 or 3:1 ratio; two to three parts water to one part vinegar. Whatever ratio you decide to use, shut the pot off partway through the cycle for about 30 minutes and let the solution set. After the cycle is complete, run another cycle of water. Hopefully this will remove any taste in the tubes or other parts of the coffee pot. Also note your water supply. Any changes there? Consider your coffee. Is this a new can of coffee? If, after cleaning, you are still having problems, call Cuisinart. They were very helpful when we had a problem with our first machine. Wishing you the best in resolving this problem.
Question: it is not brewing all the water, only very small amounts are getting into the carafe
Answer: Different causes for this symptom. If water is leaking over the edge of the coffee basket instead of draining through the basket and/or filter, the basket may need a gentle fine wire-brush cleaning or the filter may need to be replaced. If there is no leakage over the rim of the basket, 3 things:1. The basket valve on the bottom is not opening and the auto-shutoff stops operation - fixes are a) ensure the carafe has the top on and is put directly below the basket so that the valve is opened by the carafe-top, b) either the electronic components of the auto-shutoff have failed or the mechanical components of the auto-shutoff have failed. Test the basket's mechanical auto-shutoff by filling the basket with water and putting the empty pot (with top on) under it to open the auto-shutoff valve - all the water in the basket should drain. 2. The charcoal filter in the water reservoir is blocking water flow, - test with a normal load of water without any coffee but take the charcoal filer out.3. Water tunnels between the water reservoir and the basket are blocked (sediment, etc.). If the above doesn't clear the problem, try the manufacturer's cleaning recommendations - especially if your water source results in sediment stains (commonly seen in toilet bowls) which can block the water tunnels over time.If the electronic circuit board is failing there is no fix other than replacement.
Question: what kind of paper filter does it use
Answer: It uses a number 4 paper. Purchased from your local grocery store, any brand is acceptable. Simply place inside the gold filter basket.
Question: Has the electrical problem been solved
Answer: No the electrical On switch no longer working has not been solved and this is the 3rd one of these I have purchased in 15 years, sounds crazy right? They make great coffee right up until they do not work at all! The 30 minute unplug fix worked for a couple weeks until the coffee pot hot plate base turned itself on this evening when I was in the next room, smelled that awful electrical burning smell, looked all over then saw the empty carafe cracked and singed and the hot plate burning away. No clock or lights were working. I quickly unplugged it and tossed it out in the bin! Glad I was home or I might not have had a home to return to! I am now shopping for another one that hopefully will not try to kill me!

Answer: Are you using enough coffee grounds (I put in 14 tablespoons per pitcher full of water and then have to add water to my glass when using or it’s too strong)? Brewing for at least 24 hours in fridge? Not too rough a grind, at least medium grind and not too fine or it goes through filter.
Question: Do you Diluate it with water after its steeped for a day or two when serving? Or serve as is
Answer: You put your coffee grounds in the filter screen that comes with your Primula. You then fill with water and let it steep for 24 hours or longer. I stir the grounds in the middle of the brew time and throughout periodically for a good strong brew. Make sure the pot is full with water to the rim. I hope this helps you.
Question: Does the top make an airtight seal? Like is it twist to pour? Thanks
Answer: The lid fits very snug on the top and you can twist it so that it pours nicely, there are holes for the coffee to come out. But if it is tipped over the coffee will run out, so it is not totally airtight. I do Love this cold brew coffee maker very much. Hope that helps.
Question: Do you pour all the water into the grounds, or just the first 2 cups, then the rest into the carafe
Answer: You pour all of the water slowly over the grounds. You start with the two cups to moisten the grounds. Then add the rest of the water until the pot is filled to the top of the glass “window.” Be sure that you use about a cup of “cold brew” coffee grounds, which are coarser than regular coffee grounds. And I use a chop stick to very carefully stir the grounds a couple of times during the 24 hour brewing process. The coffee is awesome! We love this brewer!

User questions & answers

Question: What's a good non abrasive cleaner for the carafe
Answer: The Wusthof representative said that 4188 is the GOURMET 7" Santoku which is a stamped knife and 4183 is the CLASSIC 7" Santoku which is a forged knife. Both are made with the same steel, however the blade does not go all the way through the handle on a stamped knife. A forged knife goes through a longer forging process when it is made and therefore has a better balance and little more weight than a stamped knife.
Question: What size paper filter fits DCC
Answer: The dimensions of the bottom are 12" x 16". The bottom is rigid. This is a great product that I highly recommend. We use it for things other than as a cooler, as well, since it is such a great size and easily carried with the handles.
Question: how tall is it
Answer: Yes! No problems with leaking both times we used it. It is a really handy little open cooler.
Question: We keep getting grounds in our coffee. It’s like the water comes out too fast and overflows the basket. Any solution
Answer: The tag says China
