The size of the oxidized sterling silver pendant is 1" and it includes solid silver box chain 18" long. This design can also be made into a bracelet charm. All my pieces are made by me in the USA with recycled sterling silver. Oxidation: A piece of blackened or oxidized silver is true sterling silver, but it’s surface has been intentionally darkened through by introducing it to a chemical process. When sterling silver is dipped into special solution – black oxide film is formed, giving the metal a black/gray surface color. The entire piece is darkened, but then the raised parts are polished back to silver color, thereby leaving a nice contrast between the raised and lowered parts (crevices) of the piece of jewelry. Like other patinas, oxidized silver is just a surface treatment and does not change the internal color or properties of the metal. Variations: All of the products at my shop are cast in small batches (5-7 pieces) and individually hand finished. So they are one of a kind creations and not factory manufactured. As a result products will have variations from one piece to the next, caused by variations in the sterling silver as well as the hand crafting. The images, descriptions and measurements you will find in the description have been used to best portray the products I sell. The pieces you receive are at least 99% similar to the pictures.
