Answer: | Yes - leak proof from the actual spring form pans but if making cheesecakes you will still need to cover them in aluminum foil if submerging them in a water bath. |
Question: | Can I simpley make my (regular sized) cheese cake recipe and expect it to fit in these 3 minis or would I need more |
Answer: | I purchased 3 sets (9 pans total). I made two batches of my regular cheesecake recipe (9") and used all 9 the 1st time. I cooked them exactly the same (water bath, temperature, and setting time) but for 1/2 the length of time. They came out a little thin so I made 7 the 2nd time. I cooked them an extra 10 minutes and they came out much better. The crust was a little thicker and the filling a little taller. I had nothing but compliments both times. |
Question: | Can I stack them and bake a tall cake |
Answer: | One can only stack the layers AFTER they are individually baked. If using a full recipe, one will need a minium of four to five pans to bake the cake. I have done this using the 7-inch pans. Three 7-inch pans will bake a full recipe beautifully and make a three layer cake. I am purchasing six of the 4-inch pans which should yield four to five 2-layer mini cakes. |
Question: | Any tips on how to clean the inner rim? I get cake batter in it and it becomes a pain to clean. -_ |
Answer: | I just soak them for about 10-20 minutes in hot soapy water and then run a round double-pointed toothpick around the rim to clean it. |
