Even Irons and steams heavy jeans, no problem. I found that it needs 2 of the cup fulls of distilled water to form steam. I'm using distilled water, not taking any chances using faucet water and clogging it up.

Question:	What is the wattage on this iron
Answer:	I looked it up on the Brentwood website, 1000 watts. It's a big iron, so big I bought a smaller Brentwood iron a week later (MPI 54, also 1000 watts), I love both of them, if the smaller one gives out I will use the bigger one.

Answer:	I'm sorry but I don't remember. That iron turned out to be to big for me. I still have it, I just don't use it. But I liked the look of it so I bought the Brentwood MPI-54 which I LOVE and it's smaller. If anything happens to the MPI-54 then I'll use the MPI-59R. It has been a few years but the reason I bought the Brentwood irons is because I sew and when you sew you don't want your iron to auto shutoff, so without going down stairs to my storage space to look at the box I'm going to say no. The reason I say no is because the iron I bought before the Brentwoods (I wasn't paying attention when purchasing) had auto shutoff, which I hated , I wouldn't make that mistake so soon afterwards.

Answer:	No. But it is easy to turn off by rotating the wheel that controls degree of heat. Rotate all the way to lowest heat setting and the heating element will be switched off. The small light on top will stay on, but there will be no heat in the ironing surface.

Answer:	I have a G4040B1200 panel which cross references to your panel which is a PL series. According to Siemens, this interlock should work with your panel.

Answer:	Just trim the inside edge of the interlock plate a little bit where the generator breaker switch contacts it, to give it more clearance. A small hand file will work since the material is soft, but a Dremel tool will take care of it in a couple of seconds.

Answer:	Yes you can see where the water is because there is an inside measuring instrument. You will clearly see up to what point you should fill it up. However, it makes no sense to waste your money and buy this iron because over time it is going to start leaking water from the bottom. All this does is to wet up your clothes, iron board and constantly having you do a re-fill. Makes no sense to get this as a steam iron. It doesn't serves the purpose for long.
Question:	does this iron have auto shut off
Answer:	If you leave the iron on:. horizontally without moving it, it will automatically stop heating after 30 seconds. The power indicator will blink to indicate the iron has stopped heating.. on its heel rest without moving it, the iron will automatically turn off after several minutes. Power indicator will blink.The power indicator will continue to blink until the iron is unplugged or reset. These are the instructions which come with the iron and I have found them to be accurate.
Question:	can tap water be used in this iron
Answer:	Beware of using tap water. I love this iron and am replacing it with the exact same brand and model. That said, I plan to use only distilled water in my new one. After using this iron with tap water for 3 or 4, I started getting rust marks on fabric when ironing and tiny black specks of something that didn't penitrate the fabric. After going on line and reading about rust in irons, it is most likely caused by a buildup of minerals inside the steam vents from using tap water. I tried cleaning with vinegar and water but stuff is still coming out of it so am replacing it.
