Answer:	My personal opinion; it doesn't. As many irons I've had, for some reason I'm not too pleased with this one. Not only not hot enough but it doesn't steam at all and it cuts on and off in which lower the temp even more.

However, it makes no sense to waste your money and buy this iron because over time it is going to start leaking water from the bottom. All this does is to wet up your clothes, iron board and constantly having you do a re-fill. Makes no sense to get this as a steam iron. It doesn't serves the purpose for long.

Answer:	If you leave the iron on:. horizontally without moving it, it will automatically stop heating after 30 seconds. The power indicator will blink to indicate the iron has stopped heating.. on its heel rest without moving it, the iron will automatically turn off after several minutes. Power indicator will blink.The power indicator will continue to blink until the iron is unplugged or reset. These are the instructions which come with the iron and I have found them to be accurate.

Answer:	Beware of using tap water. I love this iron and am replacing it with the exact same brand and model. That said, I plan to use only distilled water in my new one. After using this iron with tap water for 3 or 4, I started getting rust marks on fabric when ironing and tiny black specks of something that didn't penitrate the fabric. After going on line and reading about rust in irons, it is most likely caused by a buildup of minerals inside the steam vents from using tap water. I tried cleaning with vinegar and water but stuff is still coming out of it so am replacing it.

Answer:	I returned this iron because of the terrible steam problems I had. Though I did admit that it could have been defective. I am a Quilter and Fiber Artist and needed to replace my older and much abused Rowenta! I sent this model back and just recieved the Rowenta W9280 Steam Force Steam Iron, 1800-watt and it is wonderful! It was $4 more but vastly more efficient in steam! I ironed 75 freshly washed Fat Quarters in no time flat! Slightly damp painters canvas ironed out in one pass! Ironing silk and rayon flew by in a flash! I'm in love! Oh, I hate the blue color, but I don't buy irons for color! Hope this helps!
Question:	Am I correct in saying there is no way to regulate the amount of steam...it is either on or off
Answer:	The automatic steam level can be regulated with a dial. You can also do a burst of steam with the button. So, yes, the steam can be regulated pretty easily.
Question:	How do I turn this off without unplugging it
Answer:	The bottom line is , you can't. Even when it shuts off automatically, the light will continue to flicker to let you know it is plugged in. You should always unplug irons after you're done using them for safety. High cost irons like this one all shut off automatically. But if they are accidentally moved or shifted they will turn on, hence their flickering light design. They want people to unplug the irons when they are done using them
Question:	Trying to decide which is the best value/performance/reliability between the 5080, 6080, 8080, and 9280...any experience comparing any of these
Answer:	I dont know about the other irons, I have had another Rowenta and I like the DW6080 the best., uses tap water and does not spit or drip drag water on what I am ironing. This is the best iron I have had and used. It is my favorite, very smooth and small tip goes under buttons easily. Really like this iron and for me it got hot enough, most of our ironing is 100% cotton and it does a beautiful job. Hope this helps you....

Answer:	No, it does not it goes from lowest to max with the turn of a dial. All though when reading the manual it does refer to the lowest position as the off position but in reality it does not click to an off point. So you do have to unplug the iron. Then again I would do that with any iron.

Question:	buy extra warranty or protection plan
Answer:	Add me to the group! I purchased this iron a year ago. A year and TEN days ago. I know this because this morning when water started pouring out of my iron, I had to look up the date of purchase, so I could use my spiffy one year warranty. So much for that!! One year, and this pretty expensive iron is broken, ten days after the warranty expires. I am beyond frustrated, reading that this has happened to others who purchased one of these irons. My last iron was $12 at Walmart and lasted 15 years, four moves, 2 children, and a serviceman who wore BDU's, which needed to be ironed, five days a week. Get the warranty!!
Question:	Are the lower heat settings gentle enough for jersey/stretch knit fabrics but still hot enough to get the job done right
Answer:	Yes they are. That's part of what you're paying the high price for. I had another Rowenta iron similar to this and it had over 100 temperature settings. This is important if you iron a variety of delicate synthetic fabrics, because the cheap irons just don't "cut" it.
Question:	is this iron made in Germany or China
Answer:	Mine says Made in Germany on the iron. But don't do like I did and think it's an excellent product because it's not made in China. Wait till it starts leaking water out of the bottom. I can only use mine as a dry iron anymore. Read all the online reviews for this model. Leaking seems to be a common problem with these Rowenta's.
Question:	why should I not use distilled water in my rowenta iron
Answer:	I think the cleaning tap water after each use demand is reflective of the answer whether to utilize distilled H2O. I drink only distilled water for the past 30 years as it removes all impurities including radioactive isotopes ending up at 6.9 ph. Tap water is targeted at 7.2 ph, human blood 7.4 ph. Removal of the intended steam water after each use solves the standing water colloidalization of metal; then distilled no cleaning demand. For me, I will use this method with DISTILLED WATER and see my last iron last over 30 years until it breaks from age old wear. New iron, why should I change a sure thing of past experience; nope!

Answer:	Quoting what Jeff F just said. These razors are NOT ProGlides even though they advertised it as such. The insert inside the package is just an advertisement to TRY the ProGlide. The order i just received today are the original Fusion blades.
Question:	can this iron be used without water
Answer:	These are authentic Gilette blades. Many years ago I spoke to Gilette customer service and they told me how to verify if blades were authentic or knock offs. On the back of the plastic that holds the blade just under the piece that pivots there are code numbers, about 8 digits. Counter fitters do not have the ability to place these tiny code numbers onto the plastic, and in truth who actually knows about this. The blades sent from Amazon have these code numbers.
Question:	Can I download the instructions? I lost all that and can't remember what all the buttons mean
Answer:	I find it really hard to believe that people can shave their entire face 31 times with a single blade. But, that's not what Gillette claim. They say it lasts a month, but really they mean it lasts 8 to 10 shaves. For me, I would need to trim my beard before I shaved if I waited that long between uses. I would say that if you can grow a full beard 1 blade a week is what you can expect to get from these blades. That said, the one week works better than any other disposable blade on the market. Gillette will never sell you 1 blade for $1 as long as they still cost a nickle to make.
