Not sure if it will go back on, but it's off. I was not used to having one, really did not need the extra ironing space so I was not using it. Also, I found when I used the board, the iron rest made it so long, it just too up too much space (my house is pretty small). Love the board, but glad the iron rest came off. |

| Answer: | I have set my hot iron on the iron rest several times without causing the rubber piece to melt however, I've only left it there while adjusting the item I am ironing, so less than 30 seconds. I would not leave the hot iron on the iron rest for extended periods. |

| Answer: | The board doesn't lock when you close it. So hanging it is an issue. Would have been an easy fix but they missed it. |

| Answer: | Yes typical top with the stretched metal mesh. What is nice is the top, pad, iron rest and the feet. This is solid and stable. Well worth it if you iron. I don't use the steam platform but maybe someday??? |

| Answer: | I would definitely recommend a full size ironing board for ironing your shirts and pants. I love this little tabletop ironing board, as it is primarily designed for quick and easy small jobs. Although I iron all my clothes on it, it takes me a while to iron a long sleeve shirt and/or pants because of the small surface area. But the good news is, the padding is excellent, making for smooth ironing. And, the padding is thick, allowing it to handle the heat and steam from the iron. Overall, I am very satisfied, but for your needs you might want to go with a traditional ironing board. |
