Answer:	I've ordered several rug pads from Rug Pad USA in the past 8 months of varying heights and they've all been what they've been advertised as (7/16, 1/2, etc.). The only time I had some trouble was when I didn't check to make sure the bottom was rubberized, and for that one the rug pad and the carpet slipped around.

Answer:	This rug pad works great for me. I have it under a fairly thick wool area rug in our living room. It is thin and I think it would work fine on the lower pile rug. We spend a lot of time on the floor and I find it comfortable and it doesn't slip at all, unlike our last pad. Hope this helps.

Answer:	this question is asked over and over here... and sometimes the seller answers to say they will cut it to size if you leave the dimensions in the 'gift' note. the one I bought says gift option is not available so I can't leave a note in that box. I believe because the one I bought is fulfilled by Amazon, not the seller. I'd prefer to have 'prime' and struggle with cutting it myself... some say its too hard, some say no problem... but why do the people that 'don't know' the answer, still answer !?? Pet peeve!

The other side is a little fuzzier and softer and it goes against the hard floor. The reason for this is to prevent any scratching or damage to hardwood floors. It is argued that the smoother side provides a stiffer foundation for the back of the area rug, adding to the protection of the rug. Based on this, always place a felt rug pad softer side down against the floor.

Answer:	I have ordered four different sizes of this pad, and they are true to size. It works best to trim about 2 inches off the edges, so the rug fits against the floor more closely to avoid tripping.

Answer:	The pad should help the area rug feel more comfortable underfoot. If you are asking if the pad leaves marks on the floor, mine has not. However, the rug and pad walked so I needed to use some rug tape to keep it secure.

Answer:	Despite the title this rug pad is actually made from felt and rubber not latex. While latex grips to the floor better latex deteriorates over time and turns into a glue like substance that will eventually damage any wood flooring. So no this rug pad will not leave marks on your floor.

Answer:	I should think so, although I don't know for sure. Pads seem to work best is they are 2-3 inches in from the edge of the rug. I suspect you might want to cut a couple of inches off the 3' dimension.

Answer:	I ordered the 1/4" thick pad. It is easily at least 3/8" thick. I think this is the perfect thickness under my 8'x10' rug. The pad came a little oversized. Which is good because not all rugs are exactly their advertised size. It trims easily enough with a good, heavy duty and sharp scissors.

Answer:	I would buy the 8 x 10 (true to size) rug pad. You want the pad to be a little bit smaller to fit properly. You would probably want to trim the pad to 7’8” x 10’. I have these rug pads and they work very well and I vacuum with no problem.

Answer:	I'm not sure if they advertised this pad as being safe for hardwood floor but I have had it down for 6 months and haven't noticed any discoloring. It definitely won't scratch the floors (unless there is a pebble, etc.) as it has a soft backing.

Answer:	A: I have original, 200 year old, pumpkin pine, wide plank floors throughout my entire home and all of the 20+ rugs have one variation or another of Gorilla Grip non slip ‘waffle’ pads underneath, and more than half have been down for 3+ years. Is there any smell or out gassing and will this protect the floor from rug stains from a brightly colored rug

Answer:

The pad is quite solid so I believe it would provide protection from stains (have not had to test this theory). The pad does not produce any smell we have noticed. It has not caused any discoloration of the hardwood floor (as advertised). The only issues we have had is that the 5'x7' size does not do a great job of holding the rug in place with out something placed on top. In addition, the pad is not 1/8" thick. It is thicker, I would guess 1/4". This would not normally be a problem but we wanted our front door to swing over it and that is why we were looking for 1/8". We get the weather stripping brushing the rug.

Answer:	As far as I know, they are safe for all surfaces...wood,porcelain tiles, vinyl tiles. The pad protects the surface that you place it on.
Question:	Will this leave marks on my hardwood floor? I've seen comments on other products that they left patterns on wood floors that could not be removed
Answer:	Yes, it does leave marks on hardwood floors. I could see patterns just after two days of use, so I'll be replacing this pad with something else.

Answer:	Yes it does- I use it on ceramic & vinyl tile, fiberglass floor in boat, and wood. Also under lamps, seat cushions & anything else I want stationary.
Question:	Has anyone had issues with it sticking to hardwood floors after a period of time? I am intending to use under our cal king bed rug, can't move often
Answer:	I have 2 area rugs in my dining room and family room. I rotate them each month. They have not been sticking. I got them in December 2019.

Question:	Has anyone washed this in a washing machine
Answer:	I washed two in the washing machine any they came out fine. I dried them outside because not sure how they would do with heat.

Answer:	Semi tacky rubber doesn’t leave marks or gets slimy. Easy to pickup and move and still works. When it gets dusty wash in mild soap air dry and use again or cut it down in size and use again for another rug.
Question:	I have a 7 x 10 rug, can the 8 x 10 be cut to fit my 7 x 10 rug
Answer:	I would think it could be cut down. It is like all other type of rug holders and is soft and should be easy enough to trim.

Answer:	It DID leave marks, but no residue. This is apparently due to a chemical reaction to these CHEAP and ruinous pads. For all hardwood floor people this is fair warning, DO NOT BUY.

Answer:	No, it still slips on my hardwood floor. I would recommend also purchasing adhesive or velcro strips to hold in place.

Answer:	This would be great for your grandkids. I purchased a very soft rug for my great room for my grandkids to play on but it needed a little more cushion. I purchased this cushion and it is great. They drop their entire bodies on it and lay all over it. This cushion would be ideal.
Question:	Which side is placed up
Answer:	We placed the spongy side down, and the plastic coated side up. If you place that plastic on wood or carpet then over time it can stick and do damage. Plus the sponge is what helps it grip.
