User questions & answers
Question: | Are there drainage holes in the bottom |
Answer: | Thank you for your inquiry. The paper weight for this item is 400 gsm, and is coated on one side. From what I can find online - 300 gsm is recommended for watercolor use, so I would think these would be ok to use, however I’m just not sure if it will work on coated paper. |
Question: | Can the base be removed |
Answer: | Thank you for your inquiry. There is no difference between this item and the 'limited edition.' Oftentimes sellers will deem something as a 'limited edition' in order to seem as they're selling something exclusively, but please know that there is no such thing for this product. Any sellers fraudulently listing an item as a 'limited edition' when it indeed is not, will be reported. |

White sage (Salvia apiana), also known as sacred sage, is an evergreen perennial native to the Southwestern United States. This potent herb has been used for centuries by Native Americans in rituals of cleansing and healing. Many people continue this tradition today by holding their own sage smudging ceremonies. Burn white sage to clear energy and restore balance, for protection and spiritual purification.
California White Sage
Alternative Imagination California White Sage smudge sticks are grown and packaged in the United States.
Each stick is approximately 4" long and 1" wide. As this is a natural product please expect some variation.
Burning Instructions
Hold the California White Sage over an open flame, tilting the end down at a 45-degree angle. Once lit, let the wood burn visibly for approximately 20 seconds, relighting as necessary.
Blow out the sage stick and allow it to smolder. If the sage is difficult to light we recommend untying the string and unraveling it a little bit. Sometimes the sage bundle is tight and doesn't leave much room for oxygen to ignite the flame.

Palo Santo
Palo Santo (Bursera graveolens) is an intensely aromatic tree native to South America. A relative of frankincense and myrrh, Palo Santo has a sweet scent with hints of vanilla, mint, and citrus. Its name translates to "Holy Wood" in Spanish, and has been used by saints and shamans alike for centuries. When burned, Palo Santo releases a fragrant smoke which many believe to uplift energy and aid in spiritual purification. Use it to promote calm, relieve stress, and dispel misfortune. Burn it before meditation, to clear thoughts or focus concentration.
Burning Instructions
Hold Palo Santo over an open flame, tilting the end down at a 45-degree angle. Once lit, let the wood burn visibly for one minute, relighting as necessary. Blow out the Palo Santo stick and allow it to smolder. Because of Palo Santo's particular resinous quality, the embers may self extinguish after a few minutes. This means the wooden incense can be relit and enjoyed many times.

User questions & answers
Question: | What Is the sand for |
Answer: | it barely weighs anything. half full of incense ash mine weighs 3 ounces. I only have a food scale to weigh something so light so how accurate that is I can't say. you can tell it's metal (copper) and it's sturdy but it doesn't weigh much as it isn't very big either. & no plans to empty the ash just to weigh it. the weight is so little it didn't factor into my review. a baby or a cat could easily move it/flip it. it might make a decent bird bath or feeder in a bird cage? also, just checked, the specifications on the product page state "Item Weight 4 ounces" (so maybe a food scale is different or they are over estimating to be safe) |

User questions & answers
Question: | Can I make candles with this or would it burn too hot |
Answer: | I have never tried it with water - sorry. It is copper coated so it should not deteriorate. |
Question: | DOes this work well for incense cones |
Answer: | I don't think that you should. There are a number of chemical reactions possible with copper. I do know for sure that you cannot use it to heat food in, it can be poisonous. Notice that all cooking pans only have copper on the outside. I have used copper bowls to beat eggs in it makes them really fluffy. Since ice cream is cold you might try a small amount and see if anything happens. Acids can also have an effect on copper, it will turn it green (verdigris). That's all I know. |
Question: | Can i put water inside of it or will it deteriorate it |
Answer: | It can be used to put out the sage after burning it. |
Question: | could i eat ice cream out of it |
Answer: | I'm not sure. I use mine for water. If and when I do decide to burn ancestor money, I will use the small cauldron that I have. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Can u burn papers in this |
Answer: | Yes, you can absolutely use these copper bowls to smudge your new home! They are the perfect size for small sage bundles or palo santo. The bowls are easy to hold in your hand while smudging, and because they are copper they are a safe place to extinguish your smudge sticks when you are done. |
Question: | Can u burn papers in this |
Answer: | Yes. It’s a lovely bowl I put sand in mine and burn both Pali Santo and incense. |
Question: | can I use this to smudge my new home |
Answer: | Just realize, which I didn’t, that it’s very small. A mini bowl: 1-1/2 inches high with the bowl 3 inches across. (I had wanted a bowl for charcoal burning and it’s obviously not that.) |
Question: | Can I use this with Palo Santo sticks |
Answer: | I make aromatherapy candles, this would NOT work. I have it and it’s truly beautiful but tiny! I use it to snub my smudging sticks or to put liquid oils in. It’s very small, diameter is just a few inches. I’d check the size listed. It looks bit but it’s very small. But beautifully made and lovely to look at. Speaking professionally re candle making I use stainless steel double broilers but mine are from my grandmothers 1970s set that was passed down, but they have them on amazon. Good luck 🍀 |
