French Press - Step 1:

For each 8-ounces of coffee, you want to brew; put 2 rounded tablespoons or 2 Bodum scoops of coarse-ground coffee into the carafe.

French Press - Step 2:

After the water has boiled; wait for 10-15 seconds before pouring into the carafe. Leave a minimum of 1 inch of space at the top. Stir with a plastic or wood spoon.

French Press - Step 3:

Place the plunger unit on top of the pot. Turn lid to close off the pour spout opening. Do not press down. Let the coffee brew for 4 minutes.

French Press - Step 4:

After the 4-minute brew has completed, gently press down the plunger and you are now ready to enjoy a delicious cup of French Press coffee.

Answer:	The answer is yes. I have a French press of the same dimensions (3.75 by 6.5) and the Grosche 34 fl. oz. works fine.I think the glass might be a tiny fraction of a centimeter thicker, as the presser seems to fit slightly tighter, but that will probably make it a little more durable.

I ordered this Beeker and it was too wide at the bottom to fit. The company, when contacted, told me that I had to pay the postage back PLUS a 25% restocking fee. It wasn't worth the effort or cost. I would never purchase from this company again. I hope that my answer has helped you. perhaps if you contacted the company that made your press ... they could supply you with the correct replacement . :)

Answer:	Yeah I won't buy this carafe for more than the whole press assembly will cost me. I was looking for a metal nut to replace the plastic one that comes with the Bodum Brazil 51oz that stripped on mine. Turns out the larger cold brew press comes with a metal one which I was able to switch out with the plastic from the Brazil. Apparently the plastic isn't dishwasher safe. But for 20 bucks just get a new press. Crazy

Answer:	I have not used this on a gas stove for reheating warm coffee, but I have used this in our french press for making coffee for many years. The glass is very stable regarding poring boiling water in it (212 degrees F) but that is a lot different than an open flame, which is much hotter. Though it may work on a gas stove (when I worked in a lab as a kid, we regularly heated chemicals in glass beakers that were similar to this) it is probably not a good idea. Safer to reheat the coffee in the micro wave.
