Question:	Why aren't the bookends opposite in appearance so that when you use them right and left with a set of books the ends facing out are the same
Answer:	They aren't the most perfect bookends ever. They are holding up 10 of my books of a variety of sizes (although none are textbook size), and they have not slid or faltered at all whenever I grab a book. I bought another pair of bookends that are heavier but they slide a lot and I was extremely unimpressed with the quality. These are worth the price.
