Question:	I have seen similar strips that don't work being attached to metal. Can these be placed on a metal gate
Answer:	Yes.... but metal tends to absorb the cold easily... it may make the readings less accurate

Answer:	No. It's a throw away device. Having said that, I have three in use for about 2 years and they still show 100% battery life.
Question:	How many come in a box? The box shows 2 slots in the picture. I want to use these to monitor the temp in my freezers
Answer:	Only 1 per box. I would test them (only get one) for your freezer. Cold temperatures can make batteries not work well. I bought one (for outdoors) and it didn’t last 6 months. The batteries in these are not serviceable. I would recommend this: Samsung SmartThings GP-U999SJVLBAA Magnetic Motion Sensor, White I use it for my pool water temperature (in a sealed bag) since it also senses temperature. Bonus: the battery is replaceable- and you can get a notification if anyone tries to sneak some ice cream!

Answer:	Ralf is correct. I have the sensor in my detached garage. It's set to "garage" mode. My Smartthings hub is connected to router via ethernet. I have a small lamp with a red light bulp plugged into a TP-Link smart outlet in my common room. Everything is on same WiFi. I created a SmartThings automation that turns on the lamp & sends me a text when the garage door opens. I have another automation that turns the lamp off when the garage door is closed.

1. Does it need a neutral line? How could I know whether there is a neutral line？

Yes, it needs a neutral line.

The best way is to check the actual wires in the switch box, the neutral line is often going to be colored white, but it also may be other colors.

If there are multi-gang switches, that has a much higher likelihood of having neutrals.

If there is a wall outlet near the switch, most likely that switch box has a neutral.

If your house was built in the mid-1980s or later, there is an excellent chance that you have neutral lines in the box.

2. What is the difference between the single-pole switch, dimmer switch, and the 3-way switch?

The single-pole switch is designed to turn on/off the light at only 1 place, but could not control the fan speed or light brightness.

The dimmer switch is designed to turn on/off the light at only 1 place, besides, it also could control the fan speed or light brightness.

The 3-way switch is designed to turn on/off the light at 2 places, but could not control the speed and brightness. The 3-way switch also could be used as the single-pole switch.

3.I have a dual wifi router, How could I use it?

The smart switch needs 2.4Ghz Wi-Fi only, not suitable for 5Ghz

If it broadcast only 1 signal, you will need to go to the Wi-Fi management and create a 2.4Ghz Wi-Fi signal first, choose it and enter the password.

If it is broadcasting both signals, the 5G signal will be ignored. You’ll just choose the 2.4Ghz WIFI and enter the password of it.

Question:	Is there an on/off status indicator on the switch itself
Answer:	The toggle itself is backlit blue. It is default set for the indicator light to be off all of the time, but there are 4 options that it can be adjusted between by pressing the toggle up 3 times, then down 1 time quickly. The 4 methods and how to adjust it can be found in the manual if necessary as well.
Question:	I have a vera controller. Will this switch tell me how many watts my lights are using

Answer:	About 3-5 minutes, but it also depende of you existing cans and your existing trims and builds. This is with out programming the zigbee smart Led trim

Answer:	I also wanted to pair this light with my bridge and everything I tried did not work. I did not find a serial number either. I do hate it when companies decide on a signal platform (ZigBee in this case) but then close it off to be proprietary to only Wink or Smart Things hubs. Stupid decision in my mind. They would get so many more of these units sold to all the customers that already have Phillips lights in their home. So I will be purchasing the Phillips recessed retrofit lights instead. More expensive but at least I know they will work. I am returning the Halo lights ...Good luck to you..
Question:	Does the light always flicker 2 times after the switch is flipped? Or just until it is connected to a hub
Answer:	Just until it's connected to a hub. The flashing indicates that it's in factory reset/pairing mode. Note that if you toggle the physical power to one of these very quickly (6 times in a certain # of seconds) it will reset and flicker again (at which point you'll have to re-pair it to your hub.

Answer:	Yes. For the bulb to be controlled by wifi you have to have it in the on position. If the bulb is “off” via the app, turning the switch off and on will make it turn on. If the bulb is “on” via the app, turning the switch will make it turn off, but you will not be able to control the bulb via the app.
Question:	will this work with a UK plug? is it 220v compatible
Answer:	The likely cause: The light is not connected to the LIFX cloud. The most common fix is to switch off at the light switch, wait 5 seconds, switch back on, wait 20 seconds. If you have your LIFX and Alexa accounts integrated (i.e. you’ve enabled the LIFX skill), the Alexa app should notify you that a new light has joined the network. You may have to repeat once or twice if it doesn’t work the first time.
