In the dark, the clock face can't be easily discerned, but the projection is very visible; in daylight the projection can't be discerned (too much ambient light for contrast) but the clock face provides information. The exception is that if the power is out, the projection shuts down to save battery life. If you wake up at night and there is no projection on the ceiling, you almost certainly have a power outage.

Answer:	Actually, there is. There's a 'key' that fits in a slot on the side of the case. It's there to guarantee the top and bottom can't separate. My experience over three years is there's no way the two parts can not separate in normal use, the seal is 'very' tight. So, just remove the 'key' and slip a piece of string/cord through the hole then tie the string off where you need the sensor to stay.

Answer:	It has both. The clock itself is powered by two AA batteries. The projection light that displays the time on the ceiling or elsewhere is powered by a low voltage transformer with a cord and plug. The clock will function by itself without external power, but to see it on the ceiling you need to have the transformer and cord plugged in with AC power.

Answer:	I have had 8 remotes for 7 months with standard alkaline batteries, had to change only one set since. If placing in hard to get to locations you may want to consider lithium ion batteries.

Answer:	I don't think so. The list of compatible devices doesn't seem to list the WS-50. You might check with Ambient Weather for a definitive answer.

Answer:	Over a period of time, high humidity and condensation may have an effect on the electronics of the remote sensor. It is not weatherproof. I would place the unit in a sheltered location or in an enclosure that would limit exposure to direct moisture. Replacement remote sensors are relatively inexpensive at about $14. I have extensive experience with electronics.

Answer:	The 2000 can monitor up to 8 external temp/humidity sensors (one of these is dedicated to indoor Temp/Hum + barometric pressure) whereas the 2902A can only monitor one. Since the sensor cluster is the same for three different systems, you can use the display from WS-1900 (like WS-2902A only no WiFi), WS-2902A, or WS-2000.

Answer:	Yes, but another way to go is to get a cheap tablet and use either a weather app with your data, like weather underground, or a web browser to your data on weather underground or ambient weather. I got a 10" tablet off Walmart's website for $50 and works great next to my bed for viewing my weather info.

The rate of change of barometric pressure is a trend and may be one of several tools to predict weather 24 to 48 hours in advance.

In general, if the rate of change of pressure increases, the weather is improving (sunny). If the rate of change of pressure decreases, the weather is degrading (cloudy or rainy). If the rate of change is relatively steady, it will read partly cloudy or partly sunny (depending on the type of weather station).

The reason the current conditions do not match the forecast icon is because it is a prediction 24-48 hours in advance. In most locations, this prediction is only 70% accurate and it is a good idea to consult the National Weather Service for more accurate weather forecasts. In some locations, this prediction may be less or more accurate.

Answer:	It is either or.....which is nice. I keep mine on "constant" so in the middle of the night I can just look up to check the time. This is my second Ambient clock - Ambient JUST illuminates the time and temp on the ceiling without a backlight - the others, which I have purchased and returned, have backlighting which tends to light up the room way too much. I highly recommend this clock - my initial one lasted over 15 years and read the instructions because you can change the direction 180 degrees Good Luck!

Answer:	It appears you have the wrong time zone set. I am guessing you live in the Pacific Time Zone and you set the Eastern Time Zone by mistake. The manual helps you change the time zone back to Pacific.
