Question:	Is it normal for the plug to be hot
Answer:	I noticed mine was getting really hot. The instructions says not to use and extension cord but I HAD to so I ended up getting a heavy duty appliance extension cord. The plug only gets warm now, not super hot like before. Even if you’re not using an extension cord and gets hot make sure it’s plugged into a GFI outlet and that will solve the problem.
Question:	I know that infered heats a bigger room and gets hot faster, is there a difference otherwise? Pros and cons of each please. I don't know what infered
Answer:	From my understanding, infrared is 40% more efficient and heats faster (covering more sf as a result). However, the heat is direct and thus dissipates just as fast. Conventional heats the air unlike infrared and is supposed to last longer after the heater is off. Conventional also dehumidifies as a result. Not sure the extent to which all that is true with this specific product... I have the conventional one but not this one so can't compare.

Answer:	Yes, my remote needs a flat; watch-like, battery; kinda hard to remove the battery tray; instructions are imprinted on back of remote.

Answer:	I don’t think it throws out a great deal of hot heat but does warm up a small room. We have a 12x16 room and it’s comfortable. If you hard wire it, I’m told that it is better. Ours is plugged in.

Answer:	The very back side is 17 inches wide. The RLG25 gets wider at the front. It is 25 inches wide at the front legs of the grate. The back edge of my fireplace box is 25 inches and it is 15 inches deep. The RLG25 fits perfectly even with the coal bed sitting in front of it.
Question:	I wouldn't try hooking it up with an adapter but could you plug it into a surge protector
Answer:	the unit draws 11 amps, probably when the heater is on high. Led lights don't draw much juice.The motor that turns the lights to create the flame effect is "probably" not all that hefty. Most home circuit breakers are 20 amps per branch. Wouldn't put it on a circuit that has a lot of stuff already on the same branch. If the surge protector can handle the 11 amp draw shouldn't be a problem. I'm not an electrician. I did notice one other thing, the cord for the unit seems like your usual lamp gauge cord...just saying. The logs look great!

Answer:	No. it sits on your stove and the heat from the stove top generates the heat into the fan and then the blades turn.

Question:	An you use extension cord
Answer:	The wattage is 1500w, you should be able to use any extension cord you would use with a 1500w hair dryer. Because you will be using it for a much longer period of time than a hair dryer you may want to consider an extension cord of 14 gauge run the unit with full power for 15+ minutes and see if the cord gets hot. If it does go to a 12 gauge cord. Remember it uses very little power when used with the flame and sound, it uses the 1500 when you turn on the heat portion.

Answer:	Aside from what the other person stated I believe another difference is that this one has heat regulation whereas the other one does not, however, both appear to have regulation of the flames.

Question:	i have just built a faux fireplace in my living room. does this get hot? can you turn off the crackling sound when wanted
Answer:	This is not a product that produces heat and a light bulb is what gives out the glow. It's really just for looks. The crackling sound on mine is so quiet I don't even hear it. Then again, we have a noisy household. I hope this helps!
Question:	how long is the cord
Answer:	Not very long...maybe 4 feet...about 2 feet left outside the fireplace. What I did is add an extension cord that has an on/off switch. It extends the cord and makes it easy to turn on and off. Works great!
Question:	could you put this directly on the ground to emulate a camp fire? I'm thinking about using this at an event as a prop for a camp set

Question:	Where can I find a replacement bulb for this item? I have tried several hardware stores and even Wal-Mart but cannot find the particular light bulb for this unit
Answer:	We replaced ours with one of the LED flame-effect bulbs sold here on Amazon. Just be aware that the LED flame-effect bulb probably will be brighter than the original bulb, albeit nowhere near as bright as a read wood fire would be.

Answer:	Hi， the heating output is 750/1500W， and the highest temperature of the thermostat is 82℉. There are several thermostat levels you can cycle through between 62℉ and 82℉. Hope this can help you! Thanks
Question:	Description says adjustable brightness. But someone says its not. Which is true
Answer:	To the best of my knowledge there is no adjustable brightness. Maybe there's a mechanism I havent discovered. But I love the flame effect as it is. Wouldn't want to change it, anyway!!
