I have run this generator for up to 48 hours, but most of our outages are in the 8-12 hour duration. I run this unit 2-3 times per year. I run drop cords from the unit to my critical stuff. It starts easily, and runs 8+ hours on a tank of gas under our load. When the power goes out, it takes me about 10 minutes to roll it out, start it, and get everything plugged in. It has never let me down, would definitely purchase again. |

Obviously, the higher wattage the less run time you will get from the battery. Now, with that being said, some common uses are chargers for phones tablets, and computers. Small radios, small LED TVs and other electronics (lamps, work lights, even a hot plate). I researched a few CPAP machines and they too will run for a few hours, most I saw was 6 hours on a low setting for a Respironics humidifier. Its great for camping or power outages. | Answer: | This is just my opinion. I would think for branches between 1 1/2 and 5 inches maximum in my experience with this. It is under powered and you must be patient to cut through limbs. I'm just used to gas powered and this 18 volt is a bit to get used to. Any branch under an inch and you just use pruners. They have to be sturdy enough to hold still while you cut. Otherwise the "slow" turning chain just catches and bounces making it much more difficult. The best use I've found is cutting down small trees 5" diameter or less at ground level. Other than that, I usually find something else to trim with. Some people have stated theirs cut through like butter. I may have a bad saw. But that is not my experience. |
