| Answer: | As another answer stated, it's similar to a 1500 watt hair dryer. I'm not sure about the lowes fireplaces referenced, but just about every electric fireplace I know of is about the same 1400 to 1500 watts of heat. This is about the most wattage you can get out of a standard electrical outlet so again I don't see any major differences between any electric fireplace that I know of. In my opinion, you don't buy an electric fireplace for the heat. Yes you'll get enough heat to take the chill out of a room, but don't expect it to be the only source of heat especially for a larger room. I view these more for the look of a fireplace without the hassle of needing gas and possible venting. The other benefit is you don't need the heater on so you can use it year round just for the looks. This model is about the most realistic electric fireplace that I've seen. We love it!! |
