This heater is warm near it, but honestly I don't think it produces a great deal of heat. No heat actually rises. Btw, it is ideal for keeping our chickens more comfortable in our very cold WI winters. We're pleased with the product.

Answer:	I have not measured the exact amps. However, I have plugged in an outlet with a regular light and turning on to high 1500W had no impact on the light. As this unit is an infrared heater, I don’t think the draw is large. I ordered a second unit as the first one met my needs - just adding one to another area. MFK

Answer:	It just requires a normal 3 prog plug outlet, works very good, and puts out a lot of heat. Would recommend when turning it on, that you go thru the 1st power setting, then second, then highest. Not to the highest first, it popped our breaker!

If you’re considering hanging it from a ceiling, personally, I would get some kind of an extension bracket as not to be too close to the ceiling.
