Answer:	I wouldn't say oscillate, the unit itself stays stationary at all times. The top black section does have a small sliver (imagine a slice of pie) that circles the full 360 degrees (this is the only place heat comes out) but that is internal and none of the outside parts move. I am much happier with my lasko ceramic tower fan that releases heat from the entire face instead of one tiny sliver.

Answer:	It depends on the cost of electricity per kilowatt-hour (kw-hr) from your power company. A kw-hr is 1000 watts of electrical load for 1 hour. So, for each hour of operation, that heater uses 1.5 kw-hrs. Multiply that by the cost of the electricity per kw-hr and you'll know how much that heater costs to run each hour. Then multiply that by the number of hours it's operating in a month and you'll know the impact on your monthly bill. For example, if electricity costs 10 cents per kw-hr, the heater costs 15 cents an hour to operate. That's $3.60 per 24 hour day, $25.20 per 7 day week, and $108 for a 30-day month.

Answer:	I don't know if it will shut off if it falls over. Answer:	The temperature is incremental, not calibrated. That said, the lowest setting is just enough to take the chill off without building up heat (it cycles nicely)

Answer:	This heater works well in 100 sq ft above 53 degrees. Below 50 degrees low temperature an additional Lasko heater may be necessary depending on what your insulation and window type that you have. I still love mine.
Question:	Durability: will it stand up to limited but daily use for six months or longer without the heating element burning out
Answer:	I have used it almost every night for about 12 hours per day, every day, at the highest heat setting and with the oscillation motor running for over 5 years. It started to make a humming whine a couple days ago, but still functioned normally otherwise. I just took the back cover off for the first time (it's held on by 5 torx screws and two clear plastic stickers) and used a tiny hose/brush attachment on my handheld vacuum (the kind I usually use to clean electronics, like keyboards) and pair of long, bent-tip tweezers (used to apply individual fake eyelashes or thread overlock sewing machines) to clean out all the dust and fur from inside the heater. Especially reach inside the cylindrical fan at the center from the top and bottom cups to pick the clumps out and vacuum brush the curved fins. Be careful not to remove all the grease on the bottom plate, or if you do have to wipe some off to get the dust, you can replace it with your own, fresh machine grease. I put the cover back on and plugged it in. Now, it works like it was brand new, no strange noises, and it's putting out a lot more heat and pushing it further around the room like it used to when it was brand new. I have bought two other space heaters since I bought this one. The Vornado literally melted itself with a few months and the Crane had to be rewired after a couple months, is weak, has no tipover protection, and can only heat a small closet or bathroom. This Lasko is the best space heater I have ever owned or used I would highly recommend it to anyone.

Answer:	Pauline - I'm an Energy Conservation Engineer. Electric heaters in general are 100% efficient. In other words, 100% of the power that goes into it is converted to heat - except for what it takes to power the fan and the oscillation of the unit. However, fans like this use an extremely small amount of power for the fan and oscillation. If you use this to reduce the amount of heating from your central heating unit (furnace), then it's extremely "efficient" and can save you a lot of money. A natural gas burning furnace is usually only 80% to 90% efficient. A good portion of heat goes out the roof through the flue pipe (exhausting the products of combustion which can be dangerous). Natural gas is usually cheaper than electricity per unit of heat, however, so many people think gas heat is more efficient than electric heat, but it's the opposite. By now, you're probably sorry you asked... :o)

Answer:	Which one is better is a matter of opinion. I have had great luck with this one. I have had 4 in the last 6 years, only because when I'm home they run 24/7.

Answer:	You need to plug it into a WALL socket. No power strip or extension cord.

Answer:	It does have a 'thermistor' that makes the heater draw less current as it(the thermistor) heats up as the heater runs. If the heater falls on its face, the thermostat and the thermistor will shut the heater off. If the thermistor gets caked with dust, the heater will become less efficient, and the thermistor cannot be reached directly for cleaning. Use some Dustoff or something like it to blow into the output grille. That could help. But do not use too much Dustoff indoors, because it has butane and propane and too much of those, well, BOOM! Keep it really clean somehow and it will last well.

Question:	How bad does it smell when it's on?? I want to use it in my office, but if it puts off any sort of odor, I won't be able to use it
Answer:	I'm pregnant so super sensitive to smells and I don't find it puts out any type of bad smell however the air it produces DOES smell slightly different- but to the point where a normal person would barely notice.
Question:	What size of room will this heat
Answer:	Elaine - my unit heats our family room that is about 25' by 18'. It heat my much smaller office in minutes and it's 15' by 12'. It works especially well when occillating. Hope this helps.
Question:	How noisy is it
Answer:	I haven't had it on now since last winter and part of the time I Had it out in the garage keeping the washing machine pipes from freezing - but I did have it in the living room for a while and don't remember it being excessively noisy
Question:	Anyone track their electric bill after using this? Did it go up or down
Answer:	WE're careful about how much we use it, but we live in SoCal with the highest electric rates in the continental US. You can do the arithmetic yourself. The heater runs at 750 (L) and 1500 (H) watts. Look at a recent electrical bill and see what the cost/kWhr is in your area. Let's say its $0.20/kWhr (typical for SoCal), then 1 hour of using the heater at high will run you $0.30 (1.5kW x $0.20/kWhr), and one month of this will run you 30 days x $0.30/day = $9.00/ month. If you live in the Pacific Northwest, like my in-laws, where electricity is cheap ($0.06/kWhr), then it will cost a lot less (only $2.70/month) for that 1 hour/day.

Question:	Can you program it to turn on at a certain time
Answer:	The label says 1500 watts high and ~900 watts lo but there is a thermistor inside that should be kept as clean as possible. Sorta' difficult to do well.
Question:	does it have a remote control
Answer:	I don't know which one is the latest but the one I bought works great. The only negative thing is that when it is on HIGH the cord gets a little warm, but I don't think it's hot enough to cause a fire. I think this is likely to happen when any heater is using 1500s watts. I am not an electrician. This is only my opinion.
Question:	does this have a fan only option
Answer:	I bought this as a gift for my mother! We have two different Lasko heaters and they are wonderful and they heat up a room really well!
Question:	How long is the cord
Answer:	It has a 6 ft cord.
