Answer:	I don’t think it would be a problem. The product doesn’t burn. It just gets hot and glows creating the effect of having embers. When it cools it goes back to its original state.

Question:	My gas connection is on the left side of the fire place when I am looking at the fire place, can I hook this up? it should have it on Left side as wel
Answer:	Ours is on the left side as well. There is a connection hose and I can not swear that it doesn't run from one side to the other, in which case, it would be covered by the lava rock. Or it could be that the valve can be flipped around. Apparently, it was not a huge deal, because I do not remember it being a problem.
Question:	How do you turn it off without burning your hand to touch the valve so close to the unit
Answer:	The heat is not that hot, locate to logs not the valve. I thought the same but is not an issue to turn off by hand. A key turn off would be the best option but could not install. Once I used the shut off valve with the logs was not an issue with the heat. Great logs looks like real logs burning but not the hazard of the heat near the side of the logs.
Question:	Can you please provide the exact measurements? I don't see them listed anywhere. 18 Inch is not enough of a description
Answer:	I am unable to measure the logs since we are currently using them in our fireplace. However, the largest log is 18" long and about 4-5" in diameter. The remaining logs decrease in diameter to create the pile for your stack. They have stacked nicely in our fireplace. We are pleased with the set. I hope this has helped.

Answer:	The product is ceramic and doesn't produce heat. Ceramics can withstand temps from 1-3k degrees F.

Answer:	I’ve had these nearly a year with no black soot problems. Thus far, I’m really pleased with these logs both for warmth and aesthetically.

Question:	Are these logs safe to use with Mertik Maxitrol fireplace
Answer:	You can use this logs with any fireplace band/combination, they're safe, i have one gotten a defective one, which was making noise sure to the heat of the fire, i quickly removed, other than that you can use them forgot any fireplace application
Question:	Do they ever expire
Answer:	I had this product for two months only, but it worked very well so far. Also no ashes come out.
Question:	They could be placed directly in flame? do they turn red in flame
Answer:	They should be placed at least 1.5 inches (4cm) above the gas orafices. When they get very hot, you should notice a low red/orange glow at the bottom.
Question:	When put into a flame, do they put off smoke
Answer:	No, they do not put off smoke. However, if you place them too close to the gas flame orafices they will cause incomplete combustion in your fireplace and therefore soot. Hope this helps :)

Be sure to leave at least 1.5 inches between the logs and your gas orafices. Blocking these orafices is what causes incomplete gas combustion which can lead to odors, carbon buildup (Which then becomes soot), or other damage.



Also, be sure that your fireplace is clean before using because any unburned organic material will also combust and create particles.

Answer:	No, there supposed to last a long time. I Have only burned mine a few times and they have some black marks from the flames but there still the same size.
