I contacted the company and they sent me the MSDS which listed these ammonium chlorides as the active ingredients. I can't endorse something that is going to pump toxins like that in my breathing air. |

| Answer: | I've used it for both in a wicking humidifier (as opposed to one using heat or sonic vibrations to atomize the water). We use the humidifier nearly continuously since both our heater and central air dry the house terribly. Note that the treatment prevents scaling by keeping the deposits soft so that you can wipe/wash them away. It cannot keep the calcium from precipitating out of the water. Bacteria will build up over several months time if you don't change your filter, no matter what solution you use. The anti-bacterial formulas in all products like this one kill of most of the bacteria/alge, but cannot be 100% effective. I change my wicking filter ever couple of months. The Best Air Treatment keeps my humidifier fresh and clean between filter changes. |

Don't put it in your ultrasonic unless you're looking for some serious atmosphere! |

| Answer: | I'm sure there's a "proper" way to do it, but I developed my own method because we had three of them running at once in our home when we had wildfire smoke and I had to clean them every few days. They really gobbled-up bad air that came in. I would empty remaining water into the kitchen sink and gently scrub them out with a little scrub brush. I"d also gently scrub off any crud that settled on the white slotted cylinder part with an old toothbrush. The Venta comes apart so you can clean the fan, which also gets dirty if you've got smoky or just bad air. The units also put welcome moisture in the air if you live in a dry climate. I don't know if the Venta company would approve my "method," but it works for me. Good luck! |

Unfortunatlly I no longer have those sample bottles to tell me the volume in the bottles. If you still have those bottles then you should be able to figure out the amount to use as one dose of water treatment additive is 3.5 fl. Oz. equal to one black mark on left side of large bottle. | Answer: | There are no fumes associated with this product. If you want to know the ingredients call the number on the bottle. The product is used to decrease white dust and hard water buildup. If you don't have either of these problems when you use your cold water to fill the humidifier don't bother using it. I have used humidifiers of many kinds over the years and sometimes I use this type of product. |
