Answer:	The ribbed hose on mine came with a hole in it also, strange. i had to make sure the water level is above the hole other wise the water pump beeps and then stopped.

Answer:	Yes, It can be work as a fan, if you don't select "COOL" option. But sound noise is louder compare to a plain fan. In the COOL position is stay the same noise as fan.
Question:	How many hours does the "cool air" blow (i.e. how long does the ice pack/water last)? Will it last a full 8 hours
Answer:	When filled, the water in the tank can last 8 hours (I've had it last longer somehow), but the ice pack will only last maybe 2 hours in warm water. So you will get 2 hours of cold water (extra cold air) and 6 hours of room temp water (cool air).

Answer:	It has an insulated cord with a plug but as I remember the plug was configured for a traditional dryer plug and I had a more traditional 220 plug for a welder or industrial equipment. I don’t remember for sure except it wasn’t compatible with my 220 outlets. It’s not a big deal to change the plug regardless.

When the set temperature is reached, the compressor (cooling function) of the unit turns off but the fan continues to run to circulate the air inside the room. Answer:	Mine came with directions! If I were you I would google the product and the words "directions for use" It is very easy to handle. It is literally just a be careful to not overfill with water situation. And one button is to turn the unit on and off and the other button is for the lights.
