Answer:	The ladder might be fine at half height but you might have to duck to get on the ladder. The rear enclosure (extra but terrific) is definitely designed to be on a Jeep or other SUV roof height.

Answer:	How you mount the awning is vehicle specific, the company I got my roof rack from made brackets to mount the awning too and they came with quick release clips. I didn't use the quick release clips and I used bolts with lock nuts instead. But like I said depending on your vehicle/ roof rack mounting will be different for everyone.
