Upon learning the the high price IKEA charges for shipping? I'll actually save a good bit of money buying it at a higher price on Amazon as shipping rates are much more reasonable! Answer:	Not high gloss: if compared to interior wall paint, it's slightly a step above matte but feels smooth, not chalky like a matte wall paint does. There is faint tiny pebbling, not noticeable unless you look carefully (does not affect writing on a single sheet of paper where the desk surface would impact your writing if it were not smooth).

Answer:	I used the cabinet to put my PC in. No problems at all - I kept the back open so that cables could easily go to the PC. The only very minor inconvenience is USB ports on the front of the PC have very little clearance with the door.
