Answer:	I would not use this to display frames or anything breakable. It is very lightweight and can get knocked over very easy. We used it to display scarves and handbags but also propped it up on some bricks so it was higher up off the ground. I do remember seeing a photo on the product page showing the ladder mounted on a wall horizontally with frames between the rungs. It was cute and not accessible by little people. If you want the ladder look leaning against a wall, Target, Ikea, Pottery Barn and a few other places have ladder "shelves" that come with brackets to attach to a wall for stability.

Answer:	I'm not sure because I had to return this piece since it was delivered broken. However, I can tell you that my height is only 5'3' and and the entire unit only reached my waist and the in between shelves could fit a small 5' inch plant pot. The spacest section was probably the bottom space. I hope this helps.
