Answer:	I am also 5'9" and the chair is plenty long for me. I mostly use it just slightly tilted back, but if fully reclined it is easy to rest the feet on the bottom bar. The little head pillow isn't very useful and you might want one that fits you better.

Answer:	No it's not removable, but it drops down behind the chair back if you don't want to use it, as if it wasn't there. I tried it out in our front yard, to get familiar with it & can see how to work it when we go on a week camping trip next month. I like how it's there if you need it, or tucked away if you don't. We took the 2 we bought to the July 4th fireworks show. I had the roof up over my head before sun went down, then when sun went down, I easily lowered it behind me before the show started, without having to get out of chair too! I LOVE that chair! The roof can be lowered on either side, left and right, in the front, to the back, & more, depending on direction of the sun shining on you if you "don't" want it to! I even can throw a lightweight sarong over the roof to have filtered light & "more" sun blockage without having to lower roof edges. It's so comfortable, has "2" cup holders, and a pocket on the right, under arm, for goodies, small book, hat, etc. "I" can fold it up, & set it up, & take it down & load in the included carry bag quite easily too (for a small framed woman!) There are handles on the "chair" to, to carry it without the bag, if you want to. So many innovative ideas & options. GREAT buy! I first bought one for myself, but as soon as I got it and used it, I bought another for my husband. (Even though we have several in the garage!) I do miss the footstool our other style has, but I found using our small cooler works well for that, & it's much easier to get in and out of this chair w/o a footstool. Hope this helps.
