Question:	When the 8.5’ ladder is fully extended, how many feet is the last top run from the ground that can safely be used or stood on
Answer:	I have had problems extending and retracting my ladder. I have had to have two people pull the ladder to the full length, then I have to force the rungs on the bottom half together. The bottom collapsible rung bottoms out half way down and will not close at all. I've had this ladder about a year and have had nothing but trouble sorry to say.
Question:	How wide is it front to back and how tall is it closed
Answer:	That depends on how High your roof is and what you weigh. The ladder is sturdy but does have deflection if extended all the way out. It is of OK quality for the money. I use it inside homes mostly for basic maintenance and it is extended usually 10' at a maximum..
Question:	Will leaning ladder against a tall suv damage the vehicle
Answer:	I've used it several times extended only the sections I needed to get the work done, so yes you can do it safely. I do recommend that you inspect ALL the locks carefully to make sure that they in a FULLY LOCKED POSITION. I've had some issues with them not completely locking, and the ones that don't will slide down, so make absolutely sure they are locked.
Question:	On the 8.5 ladder what’s the highest standing point
Answer:	There is the metal on metal sound when extending and collapsing. The locks make a distinct click sound when they lock into place while extending. And if you let the ladder slam while collapsing, even with the rubber stoppers it makes a good noise. Climbing seems to be quiet on mine compared to tradition aluminum extension ladders. I’m sure each ladder is different on the exact “creaks and groans” made. Also, there is Velcro that holds it when it’s collapsed. So, that could be considered loud.

Answer:	If you separate the 2, it’s not that heavy. The bed itself is around 50 pounds. The staircase is around 60-70 pounds

Question:	Did anyone use wood glue during assembly
Answer:	To use wood glue during assembly is not required
Question:	Can you make this a low loft bed
Answer:	You could cut the legs down, but the stairs would be a problem -- they are part of the frame.
Question:	Can you add additional support to this if necessary
Answer:	It is incredibly sturdy, once it is completely assembled. I did think at one point that maybe I would push the back vertical legs against the wall and line them up with the studs behind the drywall so that I could basically mount the beframe to the wall for additional support. However, If you use all of the side rails provided, the bed frame is very sturdy and did not need any additional support. I did end up putting some drive screws into the rail that was at the head of the bed. My daughter ended up cracking the wood a bit when she would lean against it to read. I put drive screws in to make that particular rail much stronger and that seemed to do the trick. Make sure you are confident on which side you want the stair system to go on, once it is in it would be a major pain to switch sides.

Answer:	Yes it can. I bought this bed and installed it yesterday. There are gaps and driller holes for screws on either side. So technically you can switch the sides or even have the slide and stairs on the same side. Works either ways.

Answer:	We installed the mini in an attic access that had an 8' wall height. It wasn't quite long enough for our application because the attachment point for the ladder has to be above the ceiling in the access hole. Not sure what we are going to use because the maxi is to wide but it would be long enough.

Answer:	I do believe you would be able to fit the mattress. the bed frame is a bit larger than the twin mattress and there are no obstructions below the bed that would not allow for one. it's a very clean and simple design. very sturdy, my husband and 3 year old son lay together. the side bars are lower than i wanted at first but they do work.
Question:	How much weight can the steps support
Answer:	I don't know the exact weight, but I'm like 240 lbs and I've sat on them. I don't know if I would recommend that though. And definitely wouldn't trust me in the actual bed part. The steps should be fine for any size child though.
