Question:	What is the width with the trundle pulled out on both the twin and full size
Answer:	I only have the twin size so I can only speak in regards to this bed. The width of bed is 42 inches wide. The trundle fits exactly under the bed. It is also 42 inches. Since the trundle can be pulled out from under the bed, the width of both can be greater than 84 inches depending on the space between the bed frame and the movable trundle frame. Hope this helps.

If you check the Storkcraft website, the difference between these two Captain's beds is visible.

Answer:	No, especially for true trundle, it wouldn't fit under the bed if you added a box spring. You could but a box spring on the top full part of the bed but my daughter just has a mattress on it now and you can't feel any difference. It mainly is about preference for whoever is sleeping on it. If you do go with a box spring I would suggest one that is coupled with the mattress into one piece.
