Instead of waking up they just fall deeper and deeper asleep until they do not wake up. I would not use a mattress topper for any child less than 2 years old. Using one can be VERY dangerous. Just ask your pediatrician.

Answer:	Hi Ruth, The mattress topper that we have fits perfectly onto our standard size crib mattress; it's not uneven or badly cut.

Answer:	It appears some folks experience an oder & others barely any. The one I received had barely an oder, which aired out after 2 days. The one u have sounds like something I would not keep in my house. I'd send that one back ask for a refund or a replacement.

Answer:	Absolutely NO! I ordered this for a 5 month old. The mattress molds to the face. I put my face down onto it and the whole side of my face including part of the nose and mouth were completely covered. I would say no to newborns, infants and in some cases toddlers that are less advance.
