Answer: It's not 92 pounds. Closer to 40. I've carried this upstairs into hotels and used it camping many times. Though I'd like to think I'm a beast, it's not even close to that 92 pound weight. Answer: After reading these answers I thought, heck I could convince my husband to try it as a regular cot if he's opposed to the air mattress while we're camping. After seeing this in action, there is a cover for the air mattress to slip into that is sewn on. Because it has a bunch of material (to accommodate an inflated mattress) it might be a bit uncomfortable to use as a cot with just sleeping bags on it. Having it filled with air was awesome. We put a queen fitted sheet over it, covered it again with a flat sheet and our sleeping bags on top for a very comfortable night.

Answer: Not terrible, I camped for a week last year on it and shared it with my 3 year old son. We were the last to arrive so naturally we were the last to be able to get an ideal spot. We had to pitch our tent on a downward slant. The frame held up fine and there were no issues, except getting in and out. It would tilt according the weight placement, but sleeping was fine, no constant bouncing up and down everyone someone rolled over. But then again it was just me and a 37lb child. I'm a 5'10" female that is neither underweight nor overweight...not sure how two adults in it would be...but if you know any single males with a good job, enjoys camping, and likes kids that talk in their sleep, let me know!

Answer: Sure, but it's going to leak. The mattress isn't good for indoor use, much less camping. Only 3 uses indoors and it's already leaking to completely empty in 2 hours. No holes - just manufacturer defects. They only have a 90 day warranty so when it's useless at 95 days, they won't stand by their products. Horrible quality. Horrible service. Don't purchase. Find a different manufacturer. You'll be really bummed when you're forced to sleep on the hard floor, because this thing can't hold air for longer than 2 hours. I can't imagine having to sleep on the dirt if you tried using this there.

Question: What’s the difference between this one and the older model
Answer: The way the inside of the bed is made. I accidentally over filled the older model and popped the sewn seems. This one has beams in it. It's sturdier, harder to put a whole in, the built in pump is better and it's a lot more comfortable.

Answer: You would have to have an electrical outlet to inflate it. It plugs in. And you would have to make sure there was nothing that would poke a hole in it. It is a very thick plastic but it could be punctured. You cannot blow it up yourself. It has an internal pump that plugs in to an electric outlet. You might be able to get a connector and plug it into your cigarette lighter thing in the car with the car engine on.

Answer: I woke up stuck between the couch and the mattress. Everytime I tried to get back up on the mattress, it literally flipped me back on the floor. Evidently there was a leak somewhere and that made it dangerous. Im disabled with cancer, so it was a lot of fun wrestling on the floor with a damn mattress and having to crawl across the floor to get to a place where I could pull myself up. I've owned other air mattresses and had great sleeping experiences. I slept great, just ended up with a busted ear drum and black and blue knees. To bad I didn't have any fun earning them.

Answer: The label on the pump says 110-120V at 0.9A, so that would mean 108W. (Additionally, some others have said that it takes about 5 minutes to inflate, so that means about 9 Wh consumed.)

Answer: Instabed makes an air mattress with a second built in pump that senses a loss of air pressure and automatically adds more air. If your bed is going completely flat it probably has a leak. But it's normal for an air bed to deflate a little for two reasons. The air pressure in it can drop in colder temperatures at night, causing the air to condense and the bed look deflated. A new air mattress will always look a little deflated after a couple days because the material stretches out. That's what it's designed to do.
