User questions & answers

Question: how do i reorder the missing screws/bolts that attach this piece to studs? we took it out for a remodel and misplaced those
Answer: Its about 125 degrees. Hot to touch but won't really burn you. Has only an on/off switch and does not turn off after a certain amount of time. Towels get toasty. I actually had to send mine back as it would not turn off at all. Have yet to get a replacement?? Hopefully coming someday.
Question: How do I order one wired on the left, and what is the upcharge
Answer: Very quickly. I have mine on a timer @ twice a day and the moment it turns on the metal instantly becomes warm and then heats up to it maximum within a very short time. I am very pleased with it and totally recommend it
Question: Is this plug in, or hard wired
Answer: I don't know the answer to that question , but I'm using the one I purchased to warm robes after getting out of my hot tub and it is NOT doing what I expected. It barely gets warm. I'm looking into the reason for that.

Drying Racks

These models will offer a stylish place to hang towels and to keep them dry — but usually contain lower-output heating elements or fewer bars which means that they will not be as effective at heating towels as other models.

Heated Towel Racks

Heated Towel Racks can be considered the ‘standard’ models if one is looking to both dry and warm towels. Individual heating ability will depend on output and surface area, but most units will keep towels comfortably warm.

Dual-function Racks

These models contain higher output heating capacity and are usually much larger than standard Heated Towel Racks. At these output levels it is common to find digital heat controllers included for better control — as at higher settings these units can provide small spaces with a source of heat.

Bathrooms

Heated towel racks not only warm and dry damp bath towels but add a sense of comfort and luxury to your bathroom experience. A heated towel rack provides an alternative source of heat in the bathroom and helps keep them dry. By using Heated towel racks to dry towels, you can effectively reduce your laundry loads.

Pools & Spas

Pool or spa owners can benefit from a heated towel rack as they are wonderful for keeping not just towels but also bathing suits dry. Heated towel racks can also help reduce the humidity that is present in enclosed pool areas, especially with the larger size models that Amba Products offers.

Hotel Luxury

Our heated towel racks are an incredible luxury and major asset to any hotel bathroom. Guests can enjoy the comfort of a warm dry towel, while the hotel and environment benefit from reduced laundry loads. What paying guest wants to reuse a towel that is wet or damp?

Mud Rooms

Mud rooms are a great location to add a heated towel rack as it not only provides a warm welcome, but can also be great for damp clothes and for drying/warming ski equipment and jackets.

How long do they take to warm up?

As your Heated Towel Rack warms up it starts to transfer that heat to the towel — how long this process takes will depend on the maximum heat output, as well as how many bars are in contact with the hanging towel, and finally the ambient temperature where it is installed. Our Heated Towel Racks are all designed and built to be left on 24 hours a day, though some users may choose to install one with a programmable timer or a countdown switch. When using a separate timer, please allow sufficient time for the unit to reach its operating temperature and warm your towel when setting the program.

What are they made of?

The majority of our Heated Towel Racks are made with the finest 304-grade stainless-steel — this high-quality metal is more resistant to corrosion, perfect for the moisture-filled conditions in which you usually find Heated Towel Racks. If cleaned and maintained properly, our models can remain pristine for many years. Traditional Collection models are made with high-quality mild steel.

What is the best way to hang towels?

To get the most out of a Heated Towel Rack, you want to make sure you fold your towels to maximize the surface area that will be in contact with the bars. The way you fold and hang your towel will depend on the configuration and size of your Heated Towel Rack, as well as the style and thickness of your towel. For a typical 2-towel set up on a ~20” wide model, the best method to maximize efficiency is to fold towels in half width-wise, and then hang them over the top bar side-by-side, so that the bars are ‘sandwiched’ between the inside folds. By hanging your towels like this you trap heat which helps maintain the temperature and speeds up the transfer rate.

User questions & answers

Question: Can you install this up side down so the electric is on the left side
Answer: We purchased this and returned it. It did not work as read. No issues with a return. It wouldn’t even warm one regular sized towel
Question: I don't see how you hang (2) full sized bath towels without triple folding them which seems to defeat the purpose. What am I missing
Answer: Don't know. I returned it days after I bought it, as it was worthless as a towel warmer. Bought a Brookstone warmer instead.
Question: My contractor mentioned that it may require a separate circuit/wiring to our board downstairs. At 150 watts, I can't imagine this is true. Thoughts
Answer: It's a piece of crap waste of money. It wouldn't warm a washcloth, let alone a towel. I bought a Brookstone towel warmer which was excellent.
Question: any benefits between straight vs curved model
Answer: It’s more stainless steel than a finish polish. But I do NOT recommend this product at all as it does not work.

User questions & answers

Question: What are the dimensions
Answer: The dimensions of this product are approximately 24” wide x 32” tall
Question: Does this come with a wall switch, or is the switch on the unit
Answer: There is a switch - on the end of the vertical rails, however, I recommend adding a timer (digital is best) because: 1) It takes 15+ minutes to have any effect on towels, and 2) You don't want to run it all day & night. Use a regular dimmer usually meant for 250+ watt lights. I use the GE15313 see http://www.manualsdir.com/models/ge/15313-ge-7-day-in-wall-digital-timer.html but any 250 watt capable timer will do. The only trouble I had with the unit is: you have to be careful locating the four mounting spots because the towel rack's "legs" are rigid. If you're off by only a little 1/8", adjustment will be needed - which can get messy in drywall.

Question: Can i wire this to a programmable timer so i can setup times of the day I want it to turn on and off
Answer: There is no problem installing this product upside down. You would then need to have the hardwire installed on the top left side. Hope this helps, thanks!
Question: Is this product curved bars? The text says yes, but the photo looks like it is straight
Answer: The towel bar is not wide enough for two towels. I put one towel on the top and hang the second towel half way down. If the towel bar has been turned on long enough the towel are warm enough that the entire towel is warm. For the price and size I would recommend it.
Question: What is the warranty on this
Answer: I believe that you can add this to a regular lighting or power circuit as I did. BUT if the Towel rail is within 3 foot of any water source, like the shower, I also believe that the Code may require that the towel rail itself is protected by a GFI. This is mandatory if you plug the towel into an outlet but if the towel rail is hard wired you may not have to but if you hardwire it I would always recommend a GFI protector that does not have an plug outlet. You m=have to hunt for this. I suspect that you contractor does not realize that a 150 watt towel rail does not need to have a separate circuit. The same may also occur with the local building inspector and they can be wrong but very hard-nosed about admitting it. Your contracts also probably wants to do this to prevent having to ask for a change order if the Inspector become hard nosed about it all. Remember the contractor's time arguing with the inspector is money to him and he needs a good relationship with them to speed the inspection process up.
Question: What is the current draw or wattage
Answer: In my opinion none other than looks. We like straight lines so we got the straight model.
