Question:	Does it open and close
Answer:	Yes. I have two. The metal parts on one of them started showing some rust after a couple months of very light use. It's in a guest bathtub shower that doesn't even get much if any direct spray. The rust on mine is on the chrome inside the plastic, not the exposed chrome. But it's still very noticeable.

Answer:	I ordered my first one in March 2013 (it's April 2014 now). Once I figured out how to put it up (really clean, dry walls) it was awesome. I put a lot of heavy bottles on it and they stay just fine. One day, about 3 months into it (I take 1 -2 showers/day and it was getting wet everyday), the shelf had fallen down and a small plastic piece had broken off so the arm couldn't be used again. I contacted OXO wondering if I could buy another of the little pieces and they sent me a whole brand new shelf, no charge because fo their warranty. I put the new shelf right back up and have been using it since then. Absolutely no problems.

Answer:	I have had two out of 3 up for over a month without them falling (since I put them up). A third I could not get to stay up for a week before it would fall down. I finally got tired of having it fall and scare the crap out of me and make a big mess, so I pitched it. I guess two out of three isn't bad, but I was sorely disappointed in the third one.

Answer:	It's roughly 2 inches from the bracket to the first tube and also roughly 2 inch gap between the tubes

Answer:	It requires drilling holes into the surface to be attached. If the surface can be drilled, it can be installed. This is a great shower curtain rod, and with the curtain rings recommended it is as smooth as silk sliding the curtain. Plus guests can hang their towel on the outside rod when they're finished.

Answer:	You would need to drill into the tile, something I would never do! Those holes will be permanent! You can either hang the rod higher, above the tile and drill into the drywall if the tile does not go up to the ceiling, or position the rod at the normal rod height, but mount it to the drywall just outside the shower/tile. This would end up pulling the curtain even further out though... Someone also mentioned using construction adhesive, not something I would do either. The adhesive is permanent as well! Good luck trying to remove it off the tile!

-- I bought two of these, one for my master bathroom and one for my boys bathroom. The brushes and holders look more durable and more expensive than the normal toilet brush you'd find at your local hardware store. Upon first glance I was wondering how well it would clean given the bristles are pretty thick but after multiple cleanings so far I can say they've done the job well and held up just fine. I also appreciate that they leave way less water drippings in the bottom of the holder than the other brushes do. I always hate to see that little puddle at the bottom, yuck!

Answer:	A drill is necessary. It's pretty easy to remove the cover, then mark the mounting hole and drilling. The screws are included. If you install it near a outlet, just plug it in. Also it is hard wired friendly.
