| Answer: | Tried using a soldering iron and it sort of works with a solder iron tip, but you can get a special tip to do it, these are used in a plastic welding 'gun' typically, or a special attachment for a heat gun, which depending on the item you are trying to repair, may cause damage. |

| Answer: | My husband has used it on a truck bumper (not metal), and his plastic cast for his wrist. It worked well on the bumper, the cast got quite hot before the plastic welding stick got hot enough to weld, but it did work. Anything lighter than that, like milk jugs, ect...they would melt before the stick got hot enough to weld with. I hope that helps. |

| Answer: | Depends very much on how you cut. Hack saw cuts in delrin look like hack saw cuts in anything else. You can get very smooth finish but tool shape is important. If you cut off 1/2" slices then face them in a lathe they can be very smooth. Low feed rates with the tool cutting edge at a low angle to the face with large clearance and relief works for me. For finish I cut relatively wide (cut depth 0.02-0.04") but thin chips. Chips do not seem to weld together like some plastics so partiung off is also an option. Delrin is slick so work holding can be tricky and can deform the piece. Also heavy cuts will be hard to hold dimensions because the delrin springs back after the cut. It sands easily too but clogs sandpaper amazingly fast. Deburring is also a pain. |

We used a tension rod to dry clothes in our shower in a tiny apartment, and it worked well until the tension rod eventually broke. It didn't break from holding clothes. It broke from being twisted the wrong way.What's gonna happen if someone puts wet clothes on it? Do you imagine the rod snapping in half? Will it bend into a weird shape so that it can't hold tension? Exactly why do you all say a tension rod can't do this task? It's a tension rod - designed for holding the weight of a heavy plastic and heavy cloth curtain. If it can do that, it can hold it's length in wet clothes. |

I would have to take the rod down to measure, and I won't do that. I can only say that it has performed outstandingly in every way ease of adjustment and usage for its intended purpose. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to be free of eternally adjusting one of the many other ones I have used. Put another way, the ends ard big enough to do the job just right. |
