Answer:	Learning proper self-myofascial release techniques (such as with a foam roller) and then stretches does the most for a pinched nerve. The nerve gets pinched from either a tight muscle or bone, if it’s in joint. Naturally, relieving the pressure on the nerve will reduce the pain. The muscle can only stretch as far as the fascia, which wraps around and through the muscle, will allow. If the fascia is tight, no amount of trying to stretch the muscle will help, anymore than one could stretch and move while wearing a wetsuit that is 3 sizes too small. If your “scuba suit”, (your fascia, which is like a 3-D web of your body, wrapping around and through the muscles) is dehydrated and tight, that subsequently puts pressure and tension on your muscles and bones, basically squeezing it. Fascia is much too overlooked, especially with issues like a pinched nerve. Even a chiropractic adjustment will be ineffective and everything pulled back out of alignment if the fascia and muscles are tight, and if the muscles are unbalanced, that is, too weak to hold the body in proper alignment, and other muscles too strong, in comparison to the weaker ones, keeping the body out of alignment.
