when i think of synthetic or natural, with regards to selenium, this pill falls under the category of synthetic. selenium in its natural form would be eating 3 brazil nuts a day, or eating cashews, black walnuts, or macadamia nuts. Other natural forms of selenium include oysters, lobster, clams and squid. the fish with the most selenium is tuna, followed by rockfish, swordfish and halibut. hope that helps.

This is the ideal dose for a medium size pet, and that is why if it much higher than that, it may be too much for a smaller dog breed.
