Leisure Time pH Balance pH Balance is a unique pH balancer that maintains the ideal pH level between 7.2 and 7.8. Eliminates the need to adjust pH on an ongoing basis. Use each time water is refilled - one bottle treats up to 500 gallons of water. pH Balance should not be used in hard water areas where calcium reading is above 150 ppm. In these conditions, this formula will soften hard water and release calcium into spa water possibly causing cloudy water, scaling and clogging of spa filter. If you are not in a hard water area, but experience clouding of spa water after applying pH Balance, Leisure Time recommends using Bright and Clear to return clarity to water. Compatible with chlorine, bromine, ozone and mineral purification systems. Due to the unique buffering capacity, it is not necessary to adjust the calcium level in the spa.

Total Alkalinity

Total alkalinity acts as a buffer to prevent the pH level from changing as additional chemicals or substances are added to the water. Any fluctuation above or below 80-120 parts per million (ppm) may cause the pH to be unstable with can lead to corrosion, cloudy water or scale formation. When the total alkalinity needs adjusting, use Leisure Time Spa Up, Leisure Time Spa Down or Leisure Time Alkalinity Increaser.

pH

It is critical that the pH of your spa water stay within the range of 7.2 - 7.8. Any fluctuations above or below this range can cause spa water to be corrosive or scale forming. pH is easily adjusted with Leisure Time pH Up or Leisure Time pH Down or, for added convenience, use Leisure Time(r) Liquid Spa Up or Leisure Time(r) Liquid Spa Down.

Calcium Hardness

Spa water requires some calcium to be present. The recommended range for calcium is between 150 - 400 parts per million (ppm). Calcium levels outside this range can cause scale buildup, foaming or corrosion of equipment or plumbing. To raise the calcium level, use Leisure Time(r) Calcium Booster. The only way to lower the calcium level is to drain part of the water and replace it. Use Leisure Time(r) Defender to prevent calcium and scale formations by chemically bonding with the calcium to keep it in solution.

Water Testing

Testing your water regularly will make you aware of any changes in your water balance and allow you to make adjustments to keep within the recommended ranges. If spa water becomes and remains unbalanced, problems such as cloudy water, scaling, equipment corrosion and skin irritation can occur.

Answer:	Hope this helps, but BV is associated with elevated Ph (over 4.8) whereas a yeast infection may be present with normal Ph levels. Yeast infections will typically have symptoms of itching, burning, etc., while BV will usually cause a fishy odor.

Do not allow the ph paper to come into contact with anything. 2) While laying down hold the strip and insert into your vagina so that the paper comes in contact with the vagina wall. Hold for 5 seconds 3) Remove the strip and wait for 30 seconds. 4) Compare the results to the color chart.
