It is not the source, but the TRANS-Resveratrol content that matters.  In the 1980s, a study found that people in France suffer fewer heart attacks than people in the USA.  Since the French people are known as wine drinkers, the scientists associated the phenomenon with wine, which contains resveratrol.   However, that does not mean wine or grapes are the only plants that contain resveratrol. As a matter of fact, peanuts, blueberries, Japanese knotweed, and other plants contain even higher concentrations of resveratrol.  More than 95% of resveratrol sold in the world is obtained from Japanese knotweed, not from grapes. Japanese knotweed root has a much higher concentration of resveratrol than grapes (which contain less than 1mg per cup).  In addition, unlike grapes, Jap[anese knotweed is a weed that grows in the wild and contains higher concentrations of trans-resveratrol. Prior to processing, knotweed can be stored at room temperature, while grapes need to be kept frozen. Because of the high cost of producing resveratrol from grapes, grape resveratrol is only available in the purity of 5%-8%. Japanese knotweed is available at purity of almost 100%. Beware of products labeled “Made with grape resveratrol.” Most of those products are worthless. A careful reading of the label indicates that each capsule contains 151 mg of resveratrol. This is 50% of 302 mg per capsule, times 2 capsule = 605 mg in a daily dose of 2 capsules. The rest of the 1450 mg daily dose of 2 capsules consists of various plant extracts with no known beneficial value. So, when you're doing comparison shopping, keep this 151 mg per capsule in mind. That is all you're getting for your money. And as other Answers here imply, the actual potency of the 151 mg of "resveratrol complex" is itself questionable.

Answer:	I can’t tell you percentages but the capsules list 1600mg of active ingredients and transresveratrol is listed as 800 mg, so that would appear to be 50% of the active ingredient. I have been taking this supplement for about 2 weeks now and I believe that I am beginning to feel a difference in energy and joint relief. I just turned 68 and have been uncomfortable with osteoarthritis for a few years now. The pain is not as bad and in the case of my newest painful place, my elbow, it is greatly relieved. The product itself is manufactured in a facility that has been approved of by the FDA based on certain criteria. I have no idea what that criteria may be.

Question:	It seems misleading to say "1000mg formula" when each capsule only contains 500mg total (250 resveratrol + 250 proprietary blend). Care to comment
Answer:	This seems to be a common, and annoying practice recently. The serving size is defined as 2 capsules. So it's 1000mg per serving and 60 capsules, but only 30 servings since it's 2 capsules per serving. Very misleading.
Question:	Did the method of making this change? First order, the stuff in the capsules seemed more granular. The next two, the capsule contents were powdered
