Question:	Where is this calcium coming from
Answer:	This is a really good question. There are numerous studies supporting both Zinc and Magnesium in support of athletic performance and recovery. ZMA is a patented formula, and typically consists of 30mg Zinc, 450mg Magnesium, and 10.5mg Vitamin B6. Rootcha’s Magnesium Citrate & Zinc Picolinate contains a different formula for several reasons. One key differences between this product and ZMA products is that Rootcha does not use the controversial forms of Zinc Monomethionine Aspartate and Magnesium Aspartate. As these forms are chelated to an amino acid (aspartate) that is considered an excitotoxin with potentially harmful side effects. If you’d like to see more research on aspartate, check out studies on the artificial sweetener aspartame, which is also derived from aspartate. Rootcha uses Magnesium Citrate & Zinc Picolinate as these forms are both highly biologically alternatives that are considered safer to use. The first reason being, that although the ingredients used in our formulation for the High-Potency Magnesium & Zinc Complex are sourced responsibly from the United States; the vegetable capsule is sourced from Mexico. Specifically from one of the manufacturing plants of the capsule manufacturer Capsugel. We consider the capsule to be a part of the consumed product. Answer:	Our Magnesium Citrate Zinc Picolinate supplement is made up of 873mg of Magnesium Citrate (133mg Elemental Magnesium) 27mg of Zinc Picolinate (5mg Elemental Zinc). Basically, from one capsule of Rootcha Magnesium Citrate and Zinc Picolinate, you're getting 133mg of actual elemental Magnesium and 5mg of actual Zinc. The rest of the ingredients (weight) of the capsule is made up of what those elements are bonded to and organic rice powder which is just the flow agent to ensure dosage accuracy. The reason you aren't just getting elemental magnesium in a bottle, is because vitamins and minerals have to be bonded to something in order to remain stable. For instance, the element Zinc is bonded to Picolinic acid which makes Zinc Picolinate and Magnesium is bonded to Citric Acid, which makes Magnesium Citrate. Bioavailability is largely dictated by these bonded elements. Rootcha chose Magnesium Citrate and Zinc Picolinate because they have excellent bioavailability and are considered gentle forms. Because ingredients are listed by weight, it can seem like there's more citric acid than magnesium. But really, it's a one to one ratio and citric acid is just large and heavy. Lastly, there are smaller and lighter ingredients that can be bonded to magnesium in order to pack more elemental magnesium in to one capsule, but again, bonded ingredients effects the absorption and bioavailability of the supplement where more elemental magnesium may be present, but much less absorbable. Answer:	It may help if your cramps are caused by a low Mg level. Most people are low in Mg so supplementing is a good idea. You could maybe add potassium also for your cramps and take the two at bedtime. I am in the process of changing my diet to the bulletproof diet. The writer recommends supplementing with D, K2, A, Mg, C, Iodine, Krill, L-tyrosine, zinc and copper, Methyl B12. Cramps are a symptom of some deficiency. Listen to your body and good luck.
