Our Organic Chia Seeds are nutrient powerhouses which is why they deserve to be associated with strength. They contain 37% of the daily recommended value of fiber to help the 97% of Americans who are fiber deficient. Just mix our chia seeds with your favorite breakfast shake, smoothie, bread batter, or other food that could use a little extra crunch that your family will love! Use them as a pre- or post-workout boost with protein powders that you are already using. You can also sprinkle the seeds as a topping on yogurt, salads, or cereal for a satisfying snack! Our Organic Chia Seeds also make a great egg replacement. Just mix 1 tbs. of chia seeds with 3 tbs. of water and let it sit for 5 minutes. Then use as an egg substitute in your favorite recipes. User questions & answers
Question: | We can eat this product for what |
Answer: | In my recent readings, I came across the information that organic coconut oil is considered "super food." You can read more on the benefits of coconut oil. That, and also searching on fiber and products loaded with fiber is how I've been aware of this product for the first time. A few grams of fiber here and there without increasing your daily calorie intake can help improve your health in many ways (read on the benefits of fiber consumption). Anyhow, if you have been or considering consuming coconut oil, you can add a teaspoon of Spectrum Essentials Chia and Flax Seed Decadent Blend with Coconut and Cocoa to a tablespoon of organic coconut oil1/2hr prior to having your meals can help reduce body fat and appetite while making it tastier. One of my favorite breakfast food is rolled oatmeal particularly when I crave for sweet. I add Spectrum Essentials Chia and Flax Seed Decadent Blend with Coconut and Cocoa to my oatmeal. This is how I have my oatmeal: 1/2c rolled oatmeal, 1-1.5c water, a tbsp of dark sugar, 2oz (walnuts, almonds, cranberries, pumpkin and sunflower seeds), generous amount of cinnamon, 1/2 scoop ON's whey protein powder (cream and cookies or dark rich chocolate), 1 or 2 tspn Spectrum Essentials, 1tbsp, Nutiva organic hempseed raw shelled, 1tspn flaxseed grund, 1tspn lecithin granules, 1/4 or 1/2 tspn Heryshey's Cocoa(special dark 100% cocoa). I have to say this product adds quite a bit taste to it.As another person mentioned in her comments, I also add this product to my protein smoothies. Gives sort of crunchy taste. |
Question: | How strong is the cocoa taste |
Answer: | I can't really comment on how strong the cocoa specifically tastes. All I know is that I love this product! I mix it in with my fruit bowl, almond yogurt, smoothies. Can't say enough about how good it is and good for you it is! |
Question: | Is the dried coconut in large pieces? Is the taste prominent? I love taste & flavor of coconut oil but generally don't like shredded dried coconut |
Answer: | Not in chunks...its flaky, and no it's not a prominent taste to the mix. |
Question: | Does anyone have a good granola bar/'energy bite' recipe to use with this? I was hoping this would add a little something to the Energy Bites |
Answer: | I put a tablespoon in my breakfast and salads. |

User questions & answers
Question: | I read that you are supposed to soak chia seeds for maximum benefit. is it necessary with these? i have just been been sprinkling them on my food |
Answer: | I mix with cereal and yogurt. They have plenty of time to absorb water in the GI system. |
Question: | Why does it say please don’t look under the bag |
Answer: | It is indeed a joke. I have some of their products. On the bottom of the bag is printed, "Quite the rulebreaker aren't you? We digg that." |
Question: | Do these contain traces of nuts |
Answer: | The only ingredient is organic chia seed. There is nothing on the packaging that indicates it was made in a facility that also makes nuts, etc. |

Question: | This may sound like a silly question but can you put these RAW chia seeds inside drinking water (and just drink it) without any preparations |
Answer: | Hi V,Yes. Chia seeds may be placed in any cold or warm beverage for consumption. Keep in mind they absorb up to 12 times their weight in liquids and will begin to form a gel after approximately 15 minutes. Prior to drinking, it is best to allow chia seeds to hydrate in water to enhance absorption in the digestive tract. We want the best when it comes to our food - clean, organic, and non-GMO. Why would we want anything different for our vitamins and supplements?
We are fanatical about food. We’re different that way. Whether we’re making a vitamin, or a probiotic, or a protein powder, we always start with real foods and these (foods) provide our formulas the power to be their best. We’re different that way, too. The synthetically created, chemical “breakthroughs” from huge commercial laboratories around the world are not for us.
As fanatical as we are over what goes into our products, we are even more obsessed about the things we keep out of them. We hate those synthetic chemicals that most companies use to make their products. This stuff makes machines work faster, and helps factories churn out super-sized containers at higher “efficiency.” Well, while the other guys spend their time preoccupied with their efficiency, we’re uncompromising about your health. Slow it down, make it by hand, grow it in rich organic non-GMO soil with enough sun, air, water and time for it to be its best. Harvest it when ready. Treat it with care. Turn it into a power-packed nutritious food supplement. That’s what we are about.
The Science of Whole Food
Your body was created to eat, process, and derive its nutrition from food—real, healthy food. So, when we create our products, we start by looking at food. What is the “good stuff” in the highest quality food that we are missing in our diets? Which of those foods have the greatest potential to impact—and empower—extraordinary health?
Clean is healthy
We start with what goes IN our products—true, whole food ingredients. But we don’t stop there. We also pay very close attention to what we keep OUT of them. And once again, we look at food—real nutrition food. When is the last time you picked up an apple, turned to read the ingredients, and saw a list of chemicals? If it’s not in your food, then we don’t want it in our supplements.
Traceability
Traceability is key to what makes Garden of Life’s products so special. Traceability starts with knowing where each and every ingredient in our products comes from and getting to know each and every source: where it’s grown; the farming practices; how they pay and treat the farm workers—everything. That’s why it’s so important to start with Certified USDA Organic and Non-GMO Project Verified fruits and vegetables that are grown without these chemicals. We want to get the good stuff from foods that are grown without any of the bad stuff.

FOUNDED IN AMERICA
Strong Heritage
Our story began in Fargo, North Dakota, when a man with a passion for golf was looking to lessen his joint pain. His research into the benefits of vitamins and supplements nurtured a deep commitment to wellness at every age and a desire to share his findings with others. In 1969, our first product was vitamin E to support cardiovascular health and antioxidant activity to neutralize free radicals.* Today, we offer thousands of innovative, science-backed wellness solutions and nutritional supplements that help people live SIMPLY HEALTHIER TOGETHER.

- Microbiology (Biolumix): testing all raw ingredients and finished products for aerobic bacterial count, yeast and mold, Salmonella, E. coli and more
- Heavy Metals & Metal Assays (ICP-MS): testing includes lead, mercury, cadmium, arsenic and more done on all raw ingredients and finished products, plus minerals such as magnesium, calcium and more.
