User questions & answers
Question: | Does this need to be refrigerated? I'm worried that if I order this on Amazon that there would be significant heat exposure during delivery |
Answer: | It is a good idea to refrigerate your omega-3 oils (except krill oil) because the many double-bonds in polyunsaturated fats are weak bonds meaning they oxidize easily and the fat goes bad. I keep my omega-3 oils in a glass mason jar (impermeable to moisture and oxygen) in the freezer and swallow the pills while still frozen. Don't freeze or refrigerate krill oil though; the phospholipids will separate from the omega-3s and having those two connected is part of the point of krill oil. |

User questions & answers
Question: | how big is the pill |
Answer: | Yes, the doctor that had me tested (LabCorp) for MTHFR mutation several years ago prescribed seven pills a day of folinic acid when the test came back positive, which I've been doing ever since. He also prescribed methylcobalamin. |
Question: | is this gluten free |
Answer: | Glen A Jacquart, I hope that you never say what you wrote again. You are so wrong. I cannot even begin to tell you all of the problems that I have if I eat gluten and I do not have celiac. When I used to eat gluten, I was diagnosed with IBS, CFS, high cholesterol, bp, and sugar. Now, I don't have any of it--the only thing that I changed is not eating wheat. You need to keep your opinion to yourself. |
Question: | Is this truly folinic acid? Or just folic acid |
Answer: | This is not Folic Acid. Folic Acid is a synthetic compound (not bioavailable), and you will find it in some supplements and fortified foods. Folic Acid is then broken down by the body into bioavailable forms of Folate. This product, Folinic Acid, is already in a bioavailable form of Folate that does not need to be broken down by the body. |
Question: | Does anyone notice a difference between folinic acid and methylfolate |
Answer: | Yes. Folinic acid helps me feel less anxious. Methylfolate does not have this effect for me, and helps me focus, most noticeably. I feel considerably better with methylfolate, while folinic acid has a more subtle effect. I am homozygous C677T and take both daily. |
