My RES came with similar smooth gravel, been 2 years since taken out, it didn't die thankfully but she is STILL pooping these out! I remove them whenever I see it but she keeps eating it from her poo or every so often another one comes free but yeah 2 years they still pop up. This could kill your turtle, cost you a vet bill for x-ray or surgery. Don't risk it
