What You'll Need:

2 cans Immaculate Baking Co. refrigerated Flaky Biscuits.

1/2 cup granulated sugar.

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon.

3/4 cup packed light brown sugar.

1/2 cup butter, melted.

Directions:

Heat oven to 350°F. Lightly grease 12-cup fluted tube cake pan with shortening or cooking spray. In large resealable food-storage plastic bag, mix granulated sugar and cinnamon. Separate dough into 16 biscuits; cut each into quarters. Shake biscuit pieces in bag to coat, and arrange biscuit pieces in pan. Discard any remaining sugar mixture.

In small bowl, mix brown sugar and melted butter; pour over biscuit pieces.

Bake 40 to 45 minutes or until dark golden brown and no longer doughy in center. Cool in pan 10 minutes; run metal spatula around edge of pan, and turn upside down onto serving plate. Serve warm.

Answer:	I bought mine months ago, the expiration date is March 28th, best if used by. I don't think you have to worry. They are so delicious I am sure they will be gone way before the expiration date.
Question:	Why are they called digestives? No explanation in any comments so far
Answer:	The "wholemeal" in these is a British term for "graham flour". Graham flour (as in Graham crackers, etc.) is a type of wheat flour which uses the entire wheat kernel, giving it a wonderful but different taste. A man named Graham (can't remember anything else about him, sorry) felt that eating easily digestible foods and chewing thoroughly made for better digestion and overall better health. This type of flour is named after him. Since Graham flour is easily digestible, and a main ingredient of these tea biscuits (cookies in USA!), and because they are fairly mild in flavor, the Brits coined them and other biscuits like them "digestives". They're crisp at first bite, but "tender" as you eat them, creating a wonderful taste and texture sensation! If all you've had in the past are American style "graham crackers" - the ones that come in a sheet with four sections and are a key ingredient in S'mores- these will taste a bit different. Graham crackers now contain mostly processed, refined flour, with only a small amount of actual graham flour for flavor, but not texture. Luckily for me, Digestives have true graham flavor, and once you've tasted them, store-bought American graham crackers just won't do! They're also very healthy, for a "cookie" (one reviewer mentioned how overwhelmingly sweet most cookies are vs. the UK biscuit). The other major difference with digestives (at least McVitie's brand) is that they have a short, simple ingredient list, without all the chemicals and dyes, etc. All of the yumminess, none of the overly refined, chemically altered, processed grahams in US stores. Unless you need to avoid gluten, sugar (a tiny amount compared to most snack foods) or wheat in general, these are an excellent choice for anyone from toddlers to older folks with less efficient digestive systems. Do they actually help your body digest food better and help you stay "regular"? I think it's a toss-up whether they do or not. I WILL say that you don't want to snarf a whole package of them at once...there will be consequences later! ;) FYI: these are my favorites, but many people prefer the chocolate coated ones, though the chocolate can be a huge mess if you live somewhere that's hot most of the year (I'm in Texas, anything in a mailbox for more than a few minutes melts into a giant mess!). The other two McVitie's biscuits (not called digestives, but containing graham flour (wholemeal) are Hobnobs, aka "the Nobbly Biscuit", which are similar to digestives but contain oats and are more crumbly and slightly sweeter. You can get them in chocolate as well, but the plain ones are like extra-tasty oatmeal cookies (the crunchy kind, not chewy). Ginger Nuts (yes, they're really called that) are my 3rd fave biscuit from McVitie's. They're different from (and better than, imo) US "ginger snaps" as the crunchy, biscotti-like textured ginger cookies are called. The same basic shape and size as American ginger snaps, but again, natural ingredients. The spices are a bit different: in addition to real ginger, there's a hint of lemon juice and the other spices are more like European spiced biscuits (such as Spekulatius) than American ones. There's enough of a "kick" to the Ginger Nuts that they get a bit spicy/hot on the tongue if you eat more than a couple - but the flavor is worth it! The tiny amount of lemon flavor can take getting used to if you haven't had ginger biscuits with lemon before, but it's not overpowering and actually adds to the taste, imo. Hopefully, I answered your question in with all my rambling about biscuits and cookies and US vs. UK food ingredients! :) Happy eating!

Answer:	Hi B.C.Yes, 12 boxes with 2 packages containing 6 cookies per package in each box. So 12 normal cookies per box, just like in the store. And then, yes 12 boxes, so 144 cookies. They were delicious. However, they did melt just a little bit so they stuck together a little. Its not bad, just not quite as good as in the store.
