Each mode is a minor variation on low intensity ramping to high then pause and repeat. Adjusting the power is a lot of clicking! And some times it's too low but just one click and it's too high, there's no in between. I have no idea why this has such high reviews. If you've used a tens 7000 you're going to find yourself disappointed in this.

Pads need to seal flush with the skin, air gaps caused by hair, joints, wrinkles etc. will cause the pad to arc, sending a shock ( or bite ). Pads that have lost adhesive ability will also cause “biting”. And..be sure you area you are padding is completely dry before applying the jel or pad. Hope this helps

Answer:	There are only six, but there are 4 different levels for each of the six. I was a bit confused by this also, and they are a bit deceptive to advertise 24 different modes. You just go to a mode selector (the "M") and as you click it you will see the numbers `1,2,3,4 appear. That will enable you to select the mode level you find best for you.

User questions & answers

Question:	What does each of the 24 modes do? I can’t believe this information is not in the instruction booklet
Answer:	Each mode is pre-setup for a different pulse width, pulse duration and frequency. You can not change these setups. I have a number of injuries from the military and this device hurts me tolerate the pain fairly well.
Question:	Does this model have an acupuncture mode
Answer:	No. It has TENS (for pain relief), PMS (for muscle work), and Massage. Each of the three major modes have a standing and sitting setting and each of those two have four settings for different patterns and intensity.
Question:	Do you need to use electrode gel
Answer:	No you do not. My husband uses the unit on a regular basis and has never used any electrode gel.
Question:	Is there a description of the different sub modes anywhere
Answer:	Each mode has its own area. 1. Ten 2. PMS. 3. Massage.. Has duration of time as well as how intense u need it to be.. I Love the dual ports. So u can work on two areas at the same time but each has its on setting area.
