Answer:	Usually people ask if they are made in the USA as a measuring stick to the level of quality. Keep in mind here that these are never used for a high level of torque...they could probably be made out of a tough plastic resin and be fine. If you torque the filter cap down with these metal sockets you will destroy them.
Question:	Is there a way to control the heat setting
Answer:	This is the correct socket for the 36mm nut on top of the oil filter canister on my 328i cabrio. That being said, 1999 was a transtion year. My car is an E36, yours is likely an E46. Measure across the flats on the nut on your oil filter canister to be sure. No other special tools are needed.

Answer:	I bought this straight out as my hubby has a bum back between l4 and l5 - this thing seriously does the trick he could be hunched over in pain put this on and within 15 minutes he is not pain free but he can actually move himself around - I was scared to use it myself as my back is messed up from the neck to the tailbone and one night i was in so much pain i could not sleep so i put it on and went thru the first 15 minutes and then turned it back on and needless to say i woke up several hours later so i had gotten comfortable enough to fall asleep within the next 15 minute run cycle
