Answer:	I would bet that your problem is that the Nova cane is 7/8s of an inch. And the tip you got is smaller. They make some that fit but you should send yours back. And get the appropriate size. Nothing can make a too small one fit.

Answer:	This is good quality and should be very durable. As Bill said, it is quite a bit heavier and larger, though, than the lighter-weight model. I got this one for my mother when she was in PT after surgery when she broke her hip, when she was just beginning to transition from a walker to a quad cane, and I actually had to return it because it was harder for her to handle and the physical therapist wanted her to use the smaller, lighter one. I replaced it with the lighter-weight quad cane from the same company. In your situation and for a man, this one may be the right choice.

Answer:	Yes, it has a rubber tip that can be replaced when it becomes worn from use which extends the life of the cane.

Answer:	Not sure the diameter, but it's very sturdy and comfy. My mom has one that looks similar in that it's "fashionable" etc., and I used hers and it felt much less sturdy. I couldn't believe the difference. I don't know if this helps at all, but I hope so :)

Answer:	As I recall, the specs said either 225 or 250 - I can't remember which. If you go to Walgreens.com, canes, they have many Nova canes and always list the weight limit under "more info". Question:	I need a replacement foam grip for mine, where can we get one
Answer:	Medical supply store? Amazon has these canes on sale sometimes and I paid $13.00 for mine. I think a replacement would run at least $5.00 if not more and if you could locate one. You could also Google the manufacturer which says NOVA on my cane.

Answer:	The best way to know a good fit is to measure from the floor to your wrist while your hand is hanging down by your side. Then match that measurement up with the length of the cane. Keep in mind wooden canes can be modified by cutting them shorter if necessary.

Answer:	The diameter of the cane is unique so you will have to measure it after you make any adjustments. I am short (5ft, 2”in)and had to cut about 6 in off the bottom i was left with 3/4 in at the bottom. Amazon has an excellent selection of bottom tips at reasonable prices.

Question:	Does the bottom pivot
Answer:	No it does not. Cane is made of inferior metal, however. Accidentally stepped on it when it was lying horizontally. Main tube snapped cleanly in two, as if it were cheap plastic. Amazing what China can put out.

Answer:	It looks like it is already set for a right-handed person in the picture. It can be changed if you need to by spinning the base around to have the flatter side of the base facing your right leg. Loosen the cover just below the height adjustment holes, push the button under the whole, turn the base around and tighten the screw cover back on.
Question:	Can you explain the “sit - to - stand” feature
Answer:	You'll note that it has 2 grip areas. A lower one and a higher one. The lower one is used to pull and balance oneself when standing up from a chair. Once half way up, you can use one hand to grab the higher grip to pull into a standing position. Once standing, you use the higher grip as the cane.

Question:	Does anyone know how to get replacement tips that are the same/as good as the one that came with this cane
Answer:	I have a steel bariatric cane with a 7/8 inch end shaft. I used to use 7/8 inch standard cane tips which lasted about 4 to 6 weeks. I discovered that 7/8 inch is the standard diameter for American crutch shafts, (they have different sizes in G.B. and Europe). The crutch tips are about the same price as the regular tips, $5-$6 per pair, but last 6 to 9 months. They are also much larger on the ground end for better traction. The crutch tips are the same size as the original tip that came on my cane.
Question:	Is it push pins adjustments and what is the weight of the cane
Answer:	Yes the height adjustment is done by pushing in a pin, and sliding the shaft to one of the pre-determined settings. I looked at the product details in the item description and it lists Shipping weight as 12.8 ounces (which my guess is slightly heavier than the weight of just the cane). However, before I purchased the cane I read the reviews and noted that several of them commented that this cane was lighter than other bariatric canes. I have found the cane weight to be just fine, it is well built, and stable. I am getting ready to order a 2nd one. I hope this helps.

Answer:	It can go down to for a person work for 5'
Question:	I need something to keep bedside to help me out of bed. Would this be sturdy enough to use in that way
Answer:	While you should not use this as the only way to get up and out of bed, I find this tremendously helpful to help me make the swing from sitting position to putting my feet onto the floor in the morning. I can then support myself to put on slippers and stand long enough to get balance and not pass out before going on to the bathroom. I have it wedged between the bed with the feet tucked under side cabinet. I was resistant to get a quad cane, now I wonder why I waited so long!
Question:	what is the size of the base and is it good for stairs
Answer:	The base of the cane is 8 inches on the sides and 6 inches in the front and back. Yes, I do think it is good for stairs unless they are very narrow. They need to be wide enough to accomodate the 8 inchs.
