12 best 312 hearing aid batteries

312 hearing aid batteries are small, button-cell batteries specifically designed to power hearing aids and are commonly used in various hearing aid models. These batteries provide the necessary power for hearing aids to amplify sound and help individuals with hearing loss to hear more effectively. Here's what you should know about 312 hearing aid batteries:

  1. Size and Appearance: 312 hearing aid batteries are part of the zinc-air battery family. They are small and round, resembling a button or coin. They are approximately 7.9mm in diameter and 3.6mm in height, making them compact and easy to handle.

  2. Voltage: 312 hearing aid batteries typically provide a voltage of 1.45 volts, which is suitable for the power requirements of most hearing aids.

  3. Color Coding: Hearing aid batteries are color-coded to help users easily identify their size. 312 batteries are often color-coded brown or orange.

  4. Packaging: These batteries are commonly sold in packages with several individual cells, as hearing aid users often require frequent replacements. Packaging may include plastic tabs or stickers to cover the air holes, preventing the battery from activating until it's ready for use.

  5. Battery Life: The lifespan of a 312 hearing aid battery depends on factors such as the hearing aid's power consumption and usage patterns. On average, they can last anywhere from 3 to 10 days, but this can vary.

  6. Storage: It's essential to store hearing aid batteries in a cool, dry place at room temperature. Avoid exposing them to extreme heat or moisture, as this can affect their performance and lifespan.

  7. Handling: When handling 312 hearing aid batteries, make sure your hands are clean and dry, as moisture or contaminants can impact their functionality.

  8. Disposal: Like other types of batteries, it's essential to dispose of 312 hearing aid batteries properly. Many hearing aid battery recycling programs are available to help with safe disposal and environmental protection.

  9. Compatibility: Before purchasing replacement batteries, check your hearing aid's user manual or consult with your audiologist to ensure compatibility with 312 batteries.Hearing aids come in various sizes and may require different battery types.

In summary, 312 hearing aid batteries are vital for individuals with hearing aids, as they provide the necessary power for these devices to function effectively. They are small, easy to handle, and color-coded for easy identification. Proper storage, handling, and disposal are essential to ensure their performance and minimize environmental impact.

User questions & answers

Question: What is the expiration date
Answer: The expiration date is 2021. I seem to be getting 7 or sometimes 8 days per use. I know I will use them before the expiration date. They have performed better than other batteries I have purchased.
Question: what is the experire date
Answer: Date of Expiration on these Batteries?
Question: If the battery is "air activated" will it start deteriorating as soon as the tab is removed, even without being used
Answer: Yes. Absolutely they will start deteriorating as soon as the tab is removed. This is the way the batteries work; they use air as part of the chemical reaction. It's not a problem. Simply leave the tab on until you're ready to use them. Once the tab is removed, the batteries will self-discharge, even if not connected to anything, within a few weeks. I am speaking as a non-scientist who understands science and knows how to look stuff up! Check wikipedia for starters ("zinc air"). Quote from wikipedia: "Miniature cells have high self-discharge once opened to air; the cell's capacity is intended to be used within a few weeks." Note the flaw in the "scientist's" answer: he just assumed, pulling this information out of the "air" (pun intended), that the non-tabbed battery wouldn't discharge much if there were no completed circuit. This false assumption ignores the chemistry of the battery. Once exposed to oxygen, the battery will begin its oxygenation process whether it's connected or not. So unless you live in a vacuum, in which case you'd probably find breathing difficult, just don't pull off the tab until a couple minutes before you're ready to use the battery.
Question: Where are these batteries made
Answer: The Duracell 312 batteries that I use are made in Elwangen, Germany. They come in a plastic lidded packet of four or six.

User questions & answers

Question: What I want is to use them with the app on my smart phone to adjust my resound hearing aid. will these batteries work for that
Answer: I have ReSound hearing aids. I use the app on my phone as well as the ReSound remote - no issues whatsoever using these batteries.
Question: Ritabarkley do you know if these batteries are comparable to powerone p675 ? can anyone tell me what the p stands for in p
Answer: The P in the P675 labeled batteries in intended to indicate "extra" power and are meant for devices that have a higher drain, such as cochlear implants. These will work as will any 675 sized battery, the difference will be for how long the battery lasts you. If a P675 lasts you 3-4 days you can expect a regular 675 to last 2-3 days (just using an example, not being exact). THAT being said, I can say that I have used both the PowerOne brand regular 675 and P675 and there is negligible difference to justify the increased cost as both batteries would typically last me 3 days with my cochlear implant.
Question: How may single batteries do i get with the "amazonbasics hearing aid batteries a312, 60 pack" for 13,69 usd? is it 10 packs of 6 batteries
Answer: Yes it is 10 packs of 6 batteries in each pack or a total of 60 batteries.
Question: instructions say "step 1 remove battery tab. step 2 let battery sit for one minute." why the wait
Answer: When I got my hearing aids the Dr told me to let the batteries set for 5-10 min to activate them. I have put batteries in right away but there seems to be a little longer life to the battery if I let it set for a few minutes.

User questions & answers

Question: Is it true that I can put them in The refrigerator to have them last longer
Answer: No, these are zinc air batteries and they should be stored in a dry cool place. Putting them in a refrigerator will actually ruin them. You should store them in a dry cool place like a bedside drawer in a room that is not humid or hot.
Question: v batteries
Answer: yes
Question: how long does each battery last on average
Answer: They last a full week in my hearing aids which I wear 15 hours a day. Same amount of time as much more expensive batteries.
Question: In the description it says to expose to air for 1 minute to activate. Is this really necessary
Answer: According to my audiologist, regulations now forbid the use of mercury in hearing aid batteries, so the modern ones run on different electro-chemical principles than batteries did formerly. If you look closely, you'll see tiny holes in the back of the battery that allow air to enter the battery once the tab is removed. This step, apparently, is necessary to give the battery a little head start in its operation. Again, my audiologist tells me that it's her experience that a 10-minute wait is preferable to a 2-3 minute wait in order to get maximum life out of a battery. My wife and I have been observing the 10-minute practice and find that the batteries last a little more than a week using them up to about 12 hours per day.

User questions & answers

Question: can i put the batteries in the fridge, will the last longer
Answer: Ray o vac says not to put them in the fridge. When you remove the tab, the cold will cause moisture to condense inside the battery, shortening its life dramatically.
Question: how do I find shipping date
Answer: We normally shipped same day or within 24 hours after receiving the order with USPS first class mail.
Question: I need rayovac battiers small size 376/377 where can i find it. it is for a small clock
Answer: Hi, this battery in the list is only for hearing aids and not for clock, it won't be good for you. For clock battery you need to search in Amazon for silver oxide battery according your required size 376/377
Question: Is there any truth to the rumor that you should pull the tab and wait at least a minute before using them or they won’t last as long
Answer: I try to allow a minute after I pull the tab because I read that it prolonged the life of the battery. My batteries seem to last a full 7 days so I am very happy with this purchase. My audiologist told me I would only get roughly 5 days with the hearing aids I purchased.
