Answer:	I tried to get by with different pillows but this works much better because it's shaped to fit between your knees or calves or thighs so that it stays there while you sleep. Also the memory foam is very soft and conforms to your body which helps much if you have an injury. I have a steel plate in my femur and this gives the padding I need to get comfortable that I couldn't get with other pillows. If you're trying to heal, this really helps.

Answer:	The pillow can be used however it's most comfortable. Place higher up between your upper thighs to take pressure off your knees or try if directly between your knees. Sleep with legs straight, bent, what have you. I'm a side-sleeper so this has helped s great deal along with a more heavy memory foam type pillow to support my head/neck too. My hips have been out of alignment (for who knows what reason) causing sciatica pain to knock me down a peg or two so this relief is awesome!

Answer:	I don't know that it will keep the air. I use it for a pillow on the pier at the lake house. I would suggest looking for a bed wedge that you can put under a child's crib mattress. I had one for my kids and it worked well - was made out of foam.
