Answer:	It is very small and hard to read. The numbers are 1/4 inch tall. For poor vision, I would recommend the Vick’s thermometer which has a number height of just over 3/8 but under 1/2 inch.

If not, is it ethical to try to return an item designed to go in someone's mouth for lack of accuracy given that the piezoelectric technology used in these types of thermometers is much more accurate than the previous analog thermometers? It is highly unlikely for this thermometer to be off. Looking at Cleveland Clinic and Mayo Clinic websites, accuracy is stated as the "most accurate" on Cleveland'a site and so little a concern for digital oral thermometers it is not even mentioned in regards to this class of thermometers for Mayo other than to say you must wait 15 minutes after drinking or eating to get an accurate reading.
