I found this helpful explanation about measurement differences on the body: "Although there is no one “normal” temperature reading, a temperature, taken orally, ranging between 97°F and 100°F is considered normal. A rectal temperature is generally 1° higher and an underarm (auxillary) temperature will be 1° lower."

I discovered it could be several factors: different insertion in the ear, earwax and the last time it happened to me my daughter had an ear infection in the ear with the higher reading. Answer:	How To Calibrate your Thermometer: The thermometer is initially calibrated at the time of manufacturing. If the thermometer is used according to the manual, periodic readjustment is not required. However, we recommend conducting a quick calibration to confirm that your unit didn't get damaged during shipment. A quick way to calibrate your unit is by doing the water test. Dip the tip of the thermometer into a cup of cold water. Your display should show 'Lo' (meaning low temperature, not low battery) or a low-temperature reading number (for example it shows 33 °C or 91°F). Power it OFF then let it sit for two minutes or three, power it ON, dip the tip into a cup of hot water this time. Answer:	It comes off as USA but I don't think so, not sure but I would not buy it again. I don't trust it to be anything like accurate. Waste of money in my opinion.

Our thermometer has a high accuracy at the time of taking the temperature and does not include disposable covers, however, it can work with the existing disposable covers in the market (for example Braun covers) only we do not guarantee that its accuracy is the same as without the cover. In our user's manual we suggest cleaning with 70% alcohol after each use to avoid infection and should not be used if there is any infection in the ear.

But once you are given access, you can always go into into your profile and make the necessary changes (such as selecting 'Im Pregnant' feature) so it will not require you to record a menstrual cycle, for ovulation predictions.
