Answer:	I solved this. I would pull the scale out, step on it, and get a first weight that was 3.5 lbs too high. Second weight was right. Turns out I wasn't letting it reset after moving it. Just set the scale on the floor. Tap it or briefly step on it. Let it flicker and then go to 0.0; then when you step on it you'll get the correct weight.

I can get on it and it says I weigh "###" then step off of it and back on it and it says I weigh something completely different, so I decided NOT to weigh myself. Question:	Is the scale accurate
Answer:	I think that one the reasons people may feel that the scale is accurate is due to the repetivity of results. Weigh yourself two or more times in a row and you'll get identical results. However, this is not an indication of accuracy. It's just how the scale works. IT WILL REGISTER THE SAME WEIGHT NO MATTER HOW MANY TIMES YOU HOP ON AND OFF. That is, until it's memory clears - which takes at least one minute. However, IF YOU WAIT AT LEAST ONE MINUTE BETWEEN SUCCESSIVE READINGS, readings will vary a bit. I took a sample of 10 such readings. Results: 3 @ 165.4 lbs., 5 @ 165.6 lbs., and 2 @ 165.8 lbs. This gives you some idea of the device's precision. As far as accuracy is concerned, my only other scale is a 12-year old Omron HBF-400 scale. On that scale, my weight is 164.8 lbs - a difference of about 0.8 pounds. I'm not sure which scale is more accurate, but the fact that the difference is less than a pound is reassuring. For my purposes, precision (consistent readings) is more important than absolute accuracy. So, I'd rate this scale as "adequate" or "satisfactory".
